Well..

I was at a psy trance party this weekend, and ofcourse, was smoking some green. A girl friend of mine said she had tried smoking 4 times before, but never seemed to get high.

I was smoking a huge bong at the time, so i told her I would show her what it felt like... The stuff I had was some good outdoor, which personally got me high off one bowl. She had 2 big bowls, coughed her lungs out, but didn't feel any different.

Is this even possible?! Do some people just have a such a huge tolerance for THC that it is impossible for them to get high?

enlighten me...

The last time I got truly high was about 5 years ago in 10th grade. Even if I go a month or two without smoking I still only get mellow not high. No matter what it is or amount I smoke. I think it's really my brain pretty much trained to deal with being high so I don't get that trippin' effect at all anymore.

She needs to smoke more, inhale and hold it for 5 seconds. She'll get high eventually. Keep smoking her up.

When I first started smoking weed I wouldn't get high either. I would smoke a lot too... like split a fatty joint of pretty high quality weed with a buddy... and nothing would happen!

I finally had to sit down and smoke like 7 bowls by myself. My buddy was with me, but we smoked like 7 fatty bowls each; we constantly smoked for like an hour. Needless to say, I got BLASTED. After that, just one hit and I would start to feel the effects... and one bowl would stone me. I don't know why, it was like there was this threshold I had to get over for the first time. Allergies can be like that too for some people. I used to not react to poison ivy, but after I wiped my ass with it by accident in the woods I had a huge reaction (I can't even describe how huge) and now I react if I barely touch the stuff.

So anyway... point is, sit her down with a vaporizer and have her smoke a ton of the stuff until she gets high. You may have to invest some money b/c it could take a lot. (I say use a vaporizer b/c it sounds like her lungs don't handle smoke very well... which is natural and fine... and she may smoke more if she enjoys it.)

I think that's because a lot of people when starting to smoke dont know how to properly inhale... Believe it or not, but many just take it into their mouth and hold it for a while... but you gotta breathe it into the lungs to get the effect

happened to me too, and once i finally got it. I could then get high off of anything!

she probably just needs to learn to hold it in right without coughing it all up

if she's new then you'll probably want some water or gatorade to help the cough

One of my close friends has tried to get high like 10 times already. And we'd get him to smoke a good amount. All he ever gets is tired, not high.

i got high the first time and i didnt cough, it was sort of a miracle cause i was nervous cause i had never done it before, and i was in an area known to be patrolled by cops for drug use, but smoke more? smoke smarter? thats all i got like everyone else.

I think that another reason could be that many new smokers don't know what it's like to be high, and thus don't realise when they are... If that makes any sense.

honestly, you're right, that's probably the reason for "not getting high" for first timers...

I know for a fact that failure to inhale had nothing to do with my inability to get high for the first few times I smoked. I had been a cigarette smoker for around a year when I first started smoking weed. I knew what inhaling was and I made sure to do it with the weed. Nonetheless, even after smoking fattie joints of decent weed with friends I felt absolutely nothing. I had to smoke a ton to get high the first time... not sure why, but that is my experience.

P.S. - I've since quit cigarettes and mostly vaporize now... vape is the way to go!
