watering

so my plant is at about a foot right now in a shitty grow box but im just wondering how often i should water it because the water goes faster and faster every day and i dont want to over water it or under water it

Read Moshee. Other than that, just water when the dirt is dry (get used to lifting pots ;) ). Check if it needs transplanting, if the plant seems to need water excessively.

Weight is the best way to tell. Even if it's a little rootbound you can water as often as necessary. You can't over water a plant but you can water too frequently.

i like the finger in the soil method...you really get a feel for it after a little while.

Im pretty sure you CAN overwater plants, quite easily from what iv heard.

If the plants are getting to the point where they're needing to be watered constantly, it might be about time to move them into larger pots. Check them to see if they're rootbound, and if so, get them into bigger homes. They'll be happier with the added room for roots to dig, and you'll be happier with a soil that retains some level of moisture again.

Be careful about testing with your finger, as soil without an abundance of roots in the bottom can collect moisture down there. I prefer knowing how much the pots weigh when completely dry, then lifting them to see if they could use a watering.
