I have a closet just like this.

And it looks like this on the inside.

Right now, I have various plants growing in my closet from 2 to 4 weeks old. Everything right now is fine since I have 24/0 lighting. My question is, when I start flowering on a 12/12 cycle, how do I prevent any light from entering the closet. How did you go about this?

If I seel off the closet with perhaps a blanket, how will I keep the closet cool?

I'm just trying to figure out how I will go about flowering my plants with this type of closet.

Sealing the outside is the easier part of it. I would just use reflective material, as a blanket is not a good reflective source...more of a fire hazard then anything. You could get a small roll of panda film, cut a piece wide enough to cover the whole door. You can attach it at the top and maybe velcro on the sides, so this way you can roll it up from the bottom up if you want to open your grow room.

Now as for keeping it cool while closed up, that's the harder part and really depends on the lights you are running. Which makes me wonder?

Right now I'm just using 6x26W cfl's so heat isn't an issue. When it's time to flower, I will be using a 250W HPS and 250W Metal Halide light.

The place I live at has 3 of these style closets. There isn't one traditional closet with a door in my house. My biggest concert is how am I going to prevent light leak during the 12/12 cycle. And then second, how big of an issue will heat become once I find a way to successfully seal off the closet.

What I'm thinking is sealing it from the outside would be the best route like you said. But everything I can think of that would seal off the closet from light would also act as an insulator. Essentially turning my closet into an oven.

I think there's a way to easily do this but it hasn't crossed my mind yet. How fragile is panda film? I'm worried it won't last long with me opening and closing my closet doors everyday.

Panda film is pretty thick, you can get it in different thickness but the thickest Ive seen is 6mil which is pretty darn thick. Thick enough to even sew on a zipper so that wouldn't be an issue.

Here's what you could do, have it open while light is on-this way you can have a fan in there for circulation. When it comes time for the light to turn off you can close it and no light will go through that stuff. Only thing is you want to be able to get fresh air in and old air out somehow, so maybe a small vent system.

I suggest you build a cabinet inside your closet.
That's what I did... and it enables you to control the transfer of heat, and the light leaks.
((light leaks are 100% unacceptable.))

Another option that crosses my mind, is that you can extend the wall towards the rail of the closet's door... then close the door up to that new wall. In this new wall, you can cut and build your airflow ducts.

Here's my thread, where I built a cabinet inside a closet just like yours, yet smaller in size.
