I brought some seeds back from beglium with me so i decided to try to grow them... I already germinated 4 seeds and planted them in some kind of miracle grow soil that i bought at the store. i have 4x 40 watt flouresent lights over the plants and a humidifier running all the time... any suggestions? is this enough light?

Is it organic miracle gro? If not, then you made the same mistake as me. I will quote someone way smarter then me on this subject:

That's your problem right there.

-Pre fertilized soils are WAY too 'hot' for tiny plants. You gotta wait until the first transplant at ~2-3 weeks before you should even consider using them, and even then, you'll want to just go with plain potting soil- those time-release ferts can wreak havoc with your fertilizing routine later!

That quote came from this thread. (http://boards.cannabis.com/indoor-growing/150695-help-will-some1-pls-help-me-correct-my-mistake.html#post1817848)

water the seedling roughly every other day (wait till top inch of soil has dried.)

with your lights, theyll be good, but make sure that at least 3 of them are daylight/cool white (bluish spectrum)

keep the soil moist (but not too wet that it may rot)

sprouts will show anywhere from 6-12 days from planting, but ive had one hold out for 3 weeks before.

The light should be fine for the seedlings, but I would read up on some CFL grows to see how to maxmize your yield with that through the whole grow process.

Oh and plain ole dirt is your best friend, believe it or not. :) But if you wanna go crazy, get some Fox Farm Ocean Forest, that stuff is the bomb.

Hey, i upgraded my setup a little. I have 3 40 watt fluorescent tubes lined on the wall and one 40 watt tube that is for plants with 1900 lumens. I have 2 Cfls hanging, each is 2600 lumens soft white (how close should the cfls be?) i am still trying to find some mylar to line the walls. how am i looking? should i get more cfls

Keep those CFLs as close to the tops of the seedlings as is possible without stressing them. With decent ventilation, you can usually get them within inches of the tops. If they're left too high, your seedlings are going to stretch to try and receive more light. I'd worry less about humidity, and get a fan in the room to circulate the air and maybe even blow on the seedlings. It'll make the stems much stronger, and simulates natural wind.

Also, if mylar isn't easy for you to come by, you can use a flat white paint instead. Believe it or not, this has been proven to be more reflective than mylar... and it's easier to find.

Okay, please let me know if i have everything, except the mylar yet.

... 4x cfl soft white 8400 lumens
... 1x cfl daylaight/blue 1300 lumens
... 1x cfl bright white/red 2000 lumens.
... 4x 40 watt fluorescent tubes.
... fan on the plants
... humidifier going
... soon to have mylar for walls..
... running lights 17/7 (suggestions on better light time let me know)

Do i have enough light? and do i want to get rid of any of the other light.. like is it good to have some red and blue cfls?
