Perlite Q:

I grow in soil and perlite, about 3:2. I have been using foxfarm bigbloom and growbig and some liquid karma so far. Anyways my question is why is my perlite on the very top turn orange??? Is this because the lights do something to the nutes that was in the water and now on the perlite??? or this this something more serious??

I think it's just staining from the soil and the perlite moving around in it while watering. I've seen the same thing. If I gently pour in water I don't get it, but if I pour water into the pot with my cup raised about 6-10 inches above the pot then the soil gets disturbed and my perlite changes colors.

yeah my perlite turns orange after my 1st or 2nd watering without nutes
