I've always been curious what it is that makes certain buds belong to a certain class of buds. I was just wondering if any of you guys knew what the parameters for being a Haze, Kush, White, Blue, et cetera.

It's all in the curing process.

It's all in the curing process.Wrong.
There are three basic types of cannabis. Indica, Sativa, and Ruderalis.
ALL strains are one of these types, or a cross between them.
Haze is always sativa dominant.
Kush, comes from strains developed in the Kush mountains in the region of Pakistan and Afghanistan.
White usually denotes a strain based on the very stable White Widow, which is mostly Indica.
Blue usually means a strain that is based on Blueberry, which is also very stable, and has both Indica and Sativa traits.

only thing i can add is:
Indica....higher CBD than THC equals heavier, sleepy type of high. Yield is usually higher than Sativa, and shorter growing season. Better for indoor growing, because they don't get as tall.
Sativa....higher THC than CBD equals cerebral, soaring type of high, more energetic Yield is usually lower than Indica, but is very potent. eg: Thai Sativa grow taller and have a longer flowering period, so they are better suited for outdoors.
Ruderalis....originally from Russia, this type of cannabis grows into huge christmas trees fast. unfortunately, THC and CBD levels are so low, that it never made it to the smoking circuit. however, ruderalis is making somewhat of a comeback, as growers are starting to cross indica and sativa strains with ruderalis for its growth size.

Yep.
The way I explain it is....
With Sativa, you're up all night organizing your music collection.:D
With Indica, you wake up in a pile of C.D.'s. :upsidedow

That's a really good analogy for them. I couldn't have said it better. I got a nice laugh out of it.

from what I've learned, it's actually the opposite... ruderalis is a VERY short, stout plant that autoflowers... good for stealth growing... they made the strain Lowryder out of it (don't know what they crossed it with) which actually produces some decent buds...
