i got a skunk plant going in my grow room on 12/12 with my other plants...the problem is the skunk is a week or two older then my other plants well the skunk aint budding...my others are...i cant figure out the problem...see i didnt have the skunk plant for all its life...buddy let me hold on to it for a while and its been atlest a week and still no buds...im thinking that he stunted it somehow...see he had it on 12/12 then switched it back to 24/0 for some reason...would that be the problem as to why it isnt budding now?

It's probably still re-vegging. All this photoperiod change could make it hermi. Be careful.

if it hadnt fully matured and made preflowers when put under 12/12, its flowering would not begin until it finished maturing. maybe thats what you experienced?

Bro, that plant isn't going to 'bud'... it's a male. Those pods you see forming all along the main stem are pollen sacs. Get it out of your grow room fast if you're not looking to pollinate your females, and be very careful removing it. If any of the sacs have released their pollen, it will be VERY easy to get it blown all around the room. Turn off all fans when you do this.

Very good advice. It is most certainly a male.

Leaving the male in there will lead to pollination of your females. If you have a fan blowing in that room, it's likely that your one male will pollinate each of your females... and could lead to hundreds of seeds, and far less smokable product. If you want more buds and less seeds, get the male out of the room. Turn all the fans off, spray the male plant with enough water to soak most of the foliage, then remove it. The water will help to neutralize some of the pollen that may have already dropped, that stuff is real easy to blow around with the slightest draft.

ok i moved the male out of the room with my females..do i need to get the male out of the house completely or just the room? im sorry just kinda new with dealing with male and female...

Up to you whether or not to keep it. If you're wanting to use its pollen for seeds, you can always flower it in another room. Just be careful after working around the male and then going into the same room as the females. It's easy to accidentally pollinate a branch by transferring pollen on your hands, clothes, hair, etc.
If you aren't wanting pollen from it, and you're not wanting to smoke it (it'll have a very low THC content), then just rid yourself of it however you see fit. For example, I like to yell vulgar things at my males before tossing them in a bonfire. :D

lmfao....truly a stoner remark...nothing better sometimes then sit around bonfire getting high.....good thing is i didnt have a fan in the grow room so i moved him out to the living room...im glad i live in such a place where people dont care what you do as long as you arent cooking meth

Hey yeah, I was worried that by the looks of things those male pods were getting quite mature next to the fems there, anyway you did the right thing by removing it.
In relation to your original question regarding the flowering times of the 'skunk' strains. My plants are only just budding up after a few days short of EIGHT WEEKS(!) on a 12/12 cycle. I have heard similar stories about another skunk strain, all i can say is I will not be growing them again as they take way too long.

my favorite game is to turn off the fans and then sneak up behind the male with a garbage bag and yell "suprise bitch!" then take him out back and dispose of him.

...good thing is i didnt have a fan in the grow room You're going to want to start using one. Circulates the air, and strengthens the stems.

You can argue all you want. Makes no difference to me.
Good luck (and put a fan on 'em)

damn, saw that pic of a male plant and almost fell out of the chair. it appears to be flowering fine, its just not the right gender.
remove it and plant a few new seeds (males worth squat except pollen)

Did you not bother to read past the first few posts? Particularly, two posts before this last one you just made? :wtf:

uh? i admit i missed the part about him removing it, but the last post before mine is about stems and support?
and anyways, why would your friend remove it to smoke? males have nothing to get you high with.

Wrong. I've used males many times to see me thru the 'lean' times. Granted, it's not primo smoke, but does get you high.

Relax please folks. Try to keep your replies on the topic of the information/misinformation posted. Those of you who are not experienced growers might want to just chill for a minute here. Posting poor grow advice always leads to flame wars and I'm too bust trying to explain to kids why they should not smoke or sell botyris-infected buds to moderate what should be a fairly agreeable bunch of like-minded folks... :(
