This looks way more fun than mixing vinegar and baking soda.

They mix potasium iodide into a blend of hydogen peroxide and dial soap.
Can it be done at home?

Cal Poly has a great course that you might want to look into...
Chemistry For Hazardous Materials.

Its a wonderfull day for chemistry :vader1:

Nice experiment, man!
Im pretty sure it can be done in home... Hydrogen peroxide can be bought at any drugstore... and the potassium iodide can be replaced by a lot of other substances... tincture of iodine (which usually contains some potassium iodide... sold at drugstores), potassium permanganate (sold at drugstores also), manganese dioxide (that black substance from batteries), sodium hypoclorite (used to clean swimming pools), silver, most iron salts, blood/raw meat (i dont recommend using this)... and a lot of other substances which i dont remember right now.
