WATER CURE THEM!

search it on :google: great method but the bag appeal is less. :rastasmoke:

Higher potency? I think this is a horse that has been beaten before...

Water Curing is known to remove a majority of flavour from your smoke too..

Soooo.. I think that's a great way to ruin your months of hard work!

I say NAY to Water Curing

Search these forums for past threads on the topic.

P.s. I don't care what method you use.. it takes more than 2 weeks for the chlorophyll to break down... so...

Those look amazing.
Water curing is for removing harshness from crappy buds. That would be like washing your car with a sandblaster. Sure, the car is clean, but now there's no paint left. That would only be appropriate if the car were coated with rust.
You don't need to do anything more than wait until they are dry enough to jar up, then remove the individual budlets from the stems, place them LOOSELY in glass jars, open for half an hour twice a day until the bud moisture feels the same when you open the jar as it did when you last closed it.
Then add another 2 or more weeks of sitting sealed in the dark for the cure to finish.
Mmmm.

Great analogy! :D

Sublime: Damn dude, just... damn! You definitely don't want to lose any of the flavor or aroma in those buds. After a nice, slow cure they're going to taste fantastic! (And send you to the moon, I'd imagine) You could water cure a small amount if you were just wanting to sample a little bit. It's less harmful to the THC than methods using high heat... but definitely go with the advice of the Mods to cure the rest of it. It's totally worth the wait for what you'll end up with.

Oh, and killer looking plant! Don't know how I forgot to mention that...

Thank you everyone!!

I am unfamiliar with the water curing method so I will not be trying it. I am just going to do it the old fashioned way and wait my time.
Maybe try a sample in 2 weeks or so, give it a fair amount of time to cure. The majority I plan on keeping cure for around a month. I am not really in any hurry to get it before it is prime as that would make the whole experience that much less of a success. Patience always pays off! Thanks again to everyone!:smokin:

Here it is after 5 days dry time. after final trimming I had a grand total of 104 grams. I am very happy with the results of the cfl's and only one plant. :stoned:

Oh crystally goodness... That's bad ass. I always get this big shiteating grin when I see a big flouro harvest like that! I can't remember if that was your first grow, but it would be impressive for anyone. +rep.

Careful man, I would not have them in glass jars packed that tightly after only five days.

I use a paper bag with it sideways, and the buds spread out over the whole area of the bag. This should take some of the extra moisture out, and then bottle it.

Just my opinion though. I've seen alot of great bud ruined in the drying\cure process.

Heck, most recently, I have a friend who harvested seven pounds, and put it in a chest in bags to leave town for about four days... came back, about 80% of the buds were no longer smokeable.

Don't be that guy! (girl in this case)

Curing is very important. But to test the strength of your herb you can smoke it as soon as it will light. I dry for 3 to 5 days then into jars. For me 10 days cure works great.

Some folks jar too early. While they may avoid mold it will take longer to cure if not smokable before being placed in jars.

It was my first grow, I started two seeds, a female bb and a female powerplant. The bb overtook the space I had so I got rid of the pp. Overall I am very satisfied with the results of only one plant. Thanks Again!!

Thanks!

I will keep a close eye on everything, I will make sure to let them breath good everyday until they are ready for hibernation.

Holy shit! 3 and a half ounces from a single plant under CFLs. Outstanding work. Hydro I'm guessing but what method? How long did you veg for? I apologize if you have a log up and the info could be found there...

Thanks,
I grew her in a soilless medium (1/3 vermiculite, 1/3 perlite, 1/3 peat moss). I started the seed on 11-7 and vegged until 12-16, so around 5 weeks at which it was 18 1/2 inches tall.

Any and all questions or comments welcome!

The bulbs I bought came from sunleaves. I have one 125 watt cfl that is 6500k or a blue spectrum and I have two that are 2700k or a red spectrum. I used one blue and one red for vegging and I switched to two red for flowering. In my opinion they worked really well for what I set out to accomplish, but that was only one plant in pretty small quarters. Depending on how big of an area you have you may want to opt for the HID, many will say it produces better more dense buds and I will not argue that point. The reason I used the cfl's is because they have a built in ballast which means less noise and alot more free space for everything that went into the closet. I am not going to say to go out and buy any particular light because I am not that guy! I think you should buy a light that will suit your needs and that you can keep the heat in the room controlled. Good luck and grow big!

I've been planning this for a couple weeks probably wont do it till about sept so i have a christmas harvest haha.....

I'll be supporting up to 9 plants nothing crazy probably veg for 4 weeks then flower from there....i've seen guys use one 400 watt HID (with ballast) and get great grows...my room will be completely sealed....every variable will be controlled (humidity, temp, PH ect ect it'll probably be under a 4x4 space (i'm goin to use 1-2 gal buckets to grow them in (not looking to go crazy here) just tryin to get an idea for optimum efficiency....let me know if you have an opinion on the matter

A christmas harvest, that sounds like a great plan, keep me on your christmas list! Your room sounds like something I wish I had. As for optimum efficiency, I guess there is alot of factors to consider. If you do some searching on here to find people with the same size room and see how they are set up it might give you some better ideas on plant number and sizes. I would think if you are not planning to veg long than more plants would be better, but less plants and some training or topping might give you just as much in return and that many less plants that you have to care for. I dont want to tell you to do anything a certain way but if I was to do it again I think I would do a scrog setup just to keep everything on an even level, but there again I have limited space which forces me to do things a little different than some. My advice is keep reading and make sure you get an exhaust system with plenty of cfm to keep the temps down. Good luck!

Thanks man any advice is good advice!!!! :)

I was thinking of a 3 week veg or until i think they are tall enough....i'm not sure yet like i said i've never done this before and i want to keep the lowest key i can....I'm probably gonna make my own carbon filter and vent to the attic...(to minimize heat pollution)...not sure what fans to use... i guess i could go with a simple duct booster fan....for exhaust and intake...lots of variables....if you could point me in the right direction of a thread that would be much appreciated....i'm new here obviously but i'll do my homework....oh, i dont want to use to much electricity i've heard that about 1000watts continuously will give the electric company a reason for suspicion (here in the states) just tryin to keep it low key

Good looking product. I tried water curing for shits and giggles. Works well, it definately strips the flavor away. The tried and true air dry takes longer but the results are worth it.
