I think most people have thought whether Obama's life would be threatened either before or after he became president and how poorly it would look if that happened. Not to mention the riots that might be caused.

However ... I think it would be the dumbest strategy in the history of hate groups given current political state. I could actually see the government declaring hate groups in the US as domestic terrorists. What would they do then?

The Secret Service will give him the protection that they can, and beyond that, what should we do about it? It seems like some people think that this is a reason he should not run or it is a reaon not to vote for him. Bullshit. That's basiocally giving in to what these ignorant, cowardly losers want.

It's pretty much assumed that Colin Powell did not run in 2000 because his wife could not live with the risk of his being assassinated. So I think we lost out on having a good candidate because of this kind of fear already. Obama does not seem worried, so neither will I.

I think if he becomes president, he is likely to be a very popular president, and any attempt on his life would rain shit down upon the heads of hate groups. The backlash would be huge --- maybe we would finally be rid of these moronic cavemen.

First off theres too many damn problems in America right now for some racist dumbass to go and kill our potential president because of his race its 2008 god damn it. Political assasinations are so 1960s. Though i know theres bound to be some whites really plotting this especially when he goes up against Mcain. But i think they will all fail. If anything Mcain hires a hit man to kill Obama and America is fooled into thinking its just a race thing.
