Basically, the easyest way to run pc fans is via a phone charger/battery charger. I have found that a good r/c car battery charger puts out enough power to run two fans. Say you have a phone charger, cut off the phone adaptor bit at the end and then strip about 1cm of plastic off of the wire.

There should be one black and one red wire. On the fan do the same and there should be 1 black and one red wire. There also might be a yellow wire, just tape the end up it is not needed.

Then simply connect red to red and black to black. You can either solder them together or just tape it. But make sure you dont touch the chargers red and black wires together whilst its on, or else sparks will fly :d

Hope that helped.

-Fan Speed: 4000 RPM
-Air Flow: 35.15 CFM
-Noise Level: Less than 32 dBA

that fan is loud has a high rpm and low cfm

i would recomend at least a decent inline booster fan from the depot, their about 25 bucks push way more air, easier to wire, quieter, and can hook up exhaust hose easier

You'd just buy some of those power tool replacement cords at a hardware store and match up the cables (green to green, white to white, black to black). PC fans run on DC, but those ducts run on AC(like.. regular household power) so you don't need an adapter.

I'm looking for some decent(and cheap) ventilation too.

Currently looking at this shit:
4" inline fan at home depot (http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&productId=100073963)

4" fan at radioshack (http://www.radioshack.com/sm-more-product-information-for-the-120vac-4-fan--pi-2102825.html)

3" fan at radioshack (http://www.radioshack.com/sm-more-product-information-for-the-120vac-3-fan--pi-2103787.html)

All that stuff is AC so you don't need an adapter. Just a power cable and like I said they sell those at hardware stores.

If anyone else has some cheap suggestions let me know. All I'll be cooling is cfls so it doesn't have move tons of air, but it'd be nice if it did.

edit: and if anyone has one of those duct boosters, how loud are they? I've heard some can be pretty noisy.

How would i wire the inline fan??

at home depot you can buy a wireable 2 prong or 3 prong wires for about $5. and the inline fan at the depot is like $20-$25 it should have a 3 wire plug with a green black and white wires. the wireable 3 prong plug should also have green black and white wires. connect them with either crimp ends(which is what i like best) or use wire nuts. plug it in and go:D

I just took some old pc's I had and pulled the 12vdc ans out of em, got 2 fans outta 2 pc's, had to rip open the power supplies on them, but four fans I would never use, I found a 12vdc power supply in a junk drawer, it was for a usb hub, rated three amps, each fan pulls about 1/3rd of an amp thats about nine fans possible
on one power supply, wiring is really easy, just 2 maybe 3 wires red black, and sometimes and on one of mine white, black is negative red positive, if you get them backwards the fan just blows backwards, pretty straight forward and easy, hard to mess it up

Newegg.com (http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16835200005)

They have cheap PC fans, way cheaper than any store selling PC parts that I've ever seen (from radioshack to bestbuy to PC specialist stores). You can narrow your selection down by size, price, cfm, brand, and other specs too. Also great because it has user reviews. That links to a rosewill 120mm fan.

Only thing that might throw you off is the shipping, but it's still cheaper than any store I've seen and if you buy two or more fans it gets cheaper still.

Hope this helps some of you out. Also, if you ever want to buy computer parts, go here, it's worth it. Even if you don't plan on buying it there, the user reviews are gold.

If you have and extra computer power supply, all you need to do is short 2 pins, and hook the fans up and they're on 24/7.
