If I was to grow, specifically for donation to a club, how much trouble could I be in? What if it's 5 plants, or under?

In Washington growing 1 plant without a permit is a felony.

You would be in big trouble. If you want to help patients in Washington, get involved in the Hempfest, or Seattle green cross.
