View Full Version : I have never been this upset in my life...

So today was supposed to be the day on which I got my new car. Well, this guy named Michel drove his car here from a town that's about 5 hours away. I loved the car before I had even seen it in person, and when I saw it I loved it even more, not to mention when I saw it driven. It's a highly modified car but not overdone in any way. IT has some imported parts from Japan but it pretty much looks like your average Civic if not better. Anyway, so we took it to a garage to be looked at. Basically, the motherfuckers there had a few things to say. First of all, there was no oil in the car, so they thought there was an oil leak. There wasn't. Then they said that the suspension was too low and would destroy the car eventually. Well fucking morons, maybe it's because it's an aftermarket suspension? Many cars that come from the factory ride even lower. Also the owner of the garage told my mom that 6K (Canadian) isn't worth paying for a 1992 Civic. Well of course you're gonna say that if you are not aware of the fact that approx. 15K was spent on modifying the car!! To make things short, all this got into my mother's head in a very bad way and she decided that I can't get that car.
My life has been ruined...for now. I am really depressed. Don't gove me anything to make it sound like it's not bad or if it's my mom's decision since she's paying. The car was in excellent condition and there was absolutely no reason for us not to buy it. Instead, we had to send the guy back with the car and no money. I am not only upset about not getting the car, but generally about my mom being a terrible and inconsiderate person (and don't tell me she's not, you don't know her, and I do). This is something I've been looking forward to for MONTHS, and it was taken away from me when it was right in front of my eyes. The worst part is that I will not be able to find another car like it. I've already been searching for about an hour and I just don't see anything.
Anyway I'm going really off right now. I'm just really really really pissed right now. I actually went all the way to work and canceled my shift because I was in too bad of a mood to work. Basically, what happened to me is a terrible thing. I feel like I've lost so much today, I feel so helpless.

I'm glad that you agree. The thing is that the reasons for not buying this car were very unjustified. I assured my mom many times before that if there truly is a problem with the car then I will refise to but it. There wasn't any, yet I couldn't get it. I'm off to kill someone.
Its a car dude, nothing to get depressed over.
At least dont do anything stupid about it.
I agree though it is a fucking badass car for the price.
Maybe work out some sort of payment system if your mom buys you the car? Like pay whatever extra your mom dosent want to pay then pay her back over time.
And look at it from your moms point of view. Whoes she going to listen to, a teenager or a certified car mechanic? Try explaining to her the modifications that went into it and justify the price rather than go all emo about it.

I had a chance on getting an Audi A6 Quatro that was beauuuuuuuuuutiful and the aesthetics were in perfect condition. It was only 12 grand, and it had 95k miles on it, and it was a '98. The engine ran well, and it had ALOT of life left in it. Unforunately my parents said no.
But I'm okay with it, because I'm looking at Honda CRV's right now :) Drove one... veeeeeeeeeery nice.

Yo buddy,
Take it from me do not buy a modified car. Chances are it was not
a pro job. 1992 civic is a slow ass car anyway.
If a car has alot of aftermarket parts it could lower the resale value.
I would buy like a 96 bonneville for $5,000 .

Epic, perhaps what upset me most about this whole thing was how futile my words were. Nothing that I said today mattered to her. I tried SO hard to explain that the car was the way it was because it was not in its original form. We drove for a good hour or so with the car and believe me it was in a beautiful condition. And also, I wouldn't be this upset if I could just go out and buy another car, because frankly I can't. No car that I've seen for sale today would have cost so little, had such wonderful fuel economy, was practical, this fun to drive, and be extremely easy on the insirance side. Wanna know what it had?
Civic SiR engine
Civic SiR transmission
Limited slip differential
Short throw shifter
Civic SiR front brakes
Euro headlights
Integra GSR/Civic SiR mags
KYB suspension
5igen muffler
Euro gauges
new front seats
alarm
remote start
And a crapload more.

Listen man, that's nice. But when your budget is 6K Canadian and you dislike 98% of the cars that you see, it's not so easy. The hardest part of this whole thing is that I will have a very, very hard time finding something I want nearly as much as this car.

1992 is pretty old. Anyway quit your bitching, your mommy is buying you a car, you are lucky no matter what it is. Go buy your own car, and then its your choice to buy a 13 year old overated car like a civic. Anway who really cares about the gauges or headlights? I see people driving around with a piece of shit like a civic all suped up and think, why not just buy a good car in the 1st place? Why spend a bunch of money on tacky aftermarket shit? All you need is a neon bar running underneath it and you will look exactly like all the other greasy boy band wanna be's i see driving around cranking their shitty music.

shitty bro, im suprised you didn't give yo mom a 2 piece and a biscuit
When you're young, you want a car that goes fast and looks pretty. When you're older you want a car that'll last a long time and not give you any trouble.
I went through a similar experience which involved a Triumph TR3, my father, and my own money. My dream car. I asked my father to look at it, as I always used to, and he popped the hood, took a sniff, and told me "This car's had some sort of electrical fire". I was devastated, wanted that car so bad, but took his advice and didn't buy it. The guy who finally did had nothing but trouble with it.
A succession of MG's, sporty American muscle cars, and a few motorcycles has taught me a few things; to buy for the long run, always be ready to say no thanks and walk away, that modified vehicles often run badly and are expensive to repair, and that the old mans advice has saved me thousands of dollars and a lot of headaches over the years. I'd have walked away from any car that didn't have oil in the engine; that says a lot, about both the car and the seller.
Just my 2 cents.

Sheesh! I understand your disappointment but c'mon! It'd be nice that was all that made me depressed! Its a car! And a car that mummys buying! Wheres her sense!?! And ur gratitude!?!
Realistically its not the end of the world and if your patient u will find another one to ur taste. Rmbr if ur spending that amount of money uv got to do it right, and considering its ur mums theres little u can do. If YOU want to pick n choose what car YOU want, best get the money urself.
Little satisfaction if you've not worked for it and all u really need is something to get u from A to B. It'l do its job, be cheap to run and tbh, be more impressive than a beast ur MUM forked out for. Wait until ur big enough to spend ur OWN hard earned pennies on a heap of junk.

Now I'm rolling in a lightly modified Crown Vic (http://www.crownvic.net/buck268/index.html), and loving every second behind the wheel :D Nothing like out driving all these ricers in my big fat American sedan (not too slow either :D ).

hold on a second.... was there no oil in the car? if so why? and I think that if your mom's buying it for you, it's her decision. the first car I got was from my parents. It was also a 1984 audi station wagon from hell but I didn't cancel my work shift because of the excessive sand in my vagina. seriously man.... I understand you're pissed but you have to learn to see from your parents perspective sometimes. If I saw a 92 civic and it had no oil in it to begin with, that would lead me to believe that the previous owner did not take care of it (especially when it's in this state upon delivery to you). Forget about it and but a 300zx turbo. then you have something to tear shit up with and it might have some oil in the crankcase.

first thing, stop being a little pussy and grow the fuck up. you obviously dont know shit about imports cause you would know to NEVER to buy a car with parts on it from someone you dont know because most of the time the cars been ragged out like shit. and whats so special about this car that you wont be able to find another like it after searching for AN HOUR..? and plus you dont want to buy a car with work already done to it. you wanna be able to do the stuff yourself. unless your a big fucking poser or something and dont know shit about imports which is probably the case im sure with you. have a nice day.

okay you NEED to stop acting like you know what your talking about. cause from what i can tell you dont know shit. how do you know that the motor swap was a clean install. do you know if the motor is even legal? cause if you get caught with a stolen motor, guess what they are taking the motor from you and leaving you with a civic to push. like you say your on a budget, but are you going to be able to afford new tires every few months due to the bad camber caused by the lowering of the car? i bet you didnt know that short throw shifters often will grind down your synchros. hey got 2 grand to rebuild your transmission? and if your on such a budget why dont you just get a lil crx and jam a b16 into it. or do you not even know what im talking about or have the know how or ability to do so. stop being a poser.

Shut the fuck up asshole. The car was right in front of me ready to be bought after it was driven here for 6 hours and been in negotiation for like 2 months. All you motherfuckers can wish it was that simple. It's not. The car was BEAUTIFUL, and me not having it is far away from being justified. If there was a good reason not to buy it then I think I'm fucking smart enough to know. And this btw is to all thee people who are telling me to stop bitching or whatever and are dissing me. I said this already this was not a simple "no you can't have it" type of thing. If it was I wouldn't be depressed a whole day and a half after it happened.

You can't be any more wrong. The car came with the bill for the motor and the installation, so much for that. And I could not buy a CRX because when I made my choice I was actually thinking about the fact that there's 2 other people in the family and that neither of them would like to be jammed into the back seat. And there are a ton of modified Civics out there with lowered suspension. I doubt most of them are having problems, why should I?
So have a nice cup of STFU and stop thinking that you know what you're talking about. When I am proven wrong I accept it and deal with it. I'm not a whiny bitch like you think I am. I am a more rational thinker than anybody in my family and then most of the people I know.

Considering that I agreed to part with the car had there been a real problem with it I'd say no. I'm really not stupid, and I'm really not a whiny bitch. But this is just the last of many complications that have been happening lately. When people make posts about their parents buying them 30 thousand dollar cars, I don't reply. Maybe I'd recommend another car, but that's about it. And I read on about how people are crying over the fact that a teen got such a nice car. They don't know him and they don't know his parents, and neither do I, which is why I never bother to say anything? Yea, it's morally incorrect, but think that maybe you if they were loaded over the roof like that kid's parents, they'd be their sons and daughters nice car too? Remember when you have more you spend more it's human nature. Anyway I don't wanna go too far off. I'm just upset about all these replies because they've been directed against me instead of to me. I chose to post this here over other message boards because I thought you people would be more understanding. Instead I get a bunch of n00bs coming into my thread and attacking me.

I bet Michael is even more pissed off than you! After driving 5 hours and no sale?!!! I can understand your disappointment, especially after looking forward to owning the car for so long. But, trust me, in the scheme of things that will go on in your life, it's not as major as you think. I know, I sound like an old person, but it's true.
If it makes you feel any better, the first car I owned (thanks to my parents buying it for me) was a 1981 Chevy Chevette two-tone blue hatchback. It was like driving around in a big Pepsi can...and it didn't take long before it puked out in the middle of the road on my way to work one day.
Keep saving your $$$ and buy whatever kind of car you want. :)

BTW.. what kind of ride do you have? I have a 98 Sentra I have put some work into. New Engine SR-20DET, Catback Exhuast, Spray, the works. Will have fun come summer time... Can't wait.
Another Thing. It is way cooler to have done some of the work yourself to your own car. Instead of buying a pre 'riced' car. Its like a pride thing sorta
