Hey this is just an honest question. I am usually always being a smart ass but I promise this is just an honest question. Is it okay to respond to posts that are in violation? Example if someone just posts a comment calling another member a name? Could that member respond as long as they don't insult that person? People call me names alot, but I always respond. Will I get in trouble for responding? I understand why the posts are deleted so please understand I don't care about that. Does what I am saying make sense? I just don't want to get banned, I really enjoy posting here and apparently I fire alot of people up. But I always do my best to stay within the rules, I just want to be sure that I am not violating rules by responding to posts.
And P4B I am not talking about what happened earlier, I did exactly what you said! I couldn't help myself and I will not do that again! I have no bones about that, I am just talking in terms of on a thread if some nut comes on JUST to call me name or attack me personally, how much can I defend myself. And is that considered bad?:smokin:
I really enjoy the forum! It is tons of fun, and lots of intresting and boring people!
And if that is bad, I am sorry in advance for what is in the current events section!

Yes, but expect that your response may also be deleted, and you may also get a warning/negative attention, especially if your response is also offensive.

Damn it man!
Yes! Yes what! Yes you can respond. I assume so because I have been and I am still here. I would expect responses to be deleted, I think that the mods do a good job enforcing the forum rules, I just don't want to piss them off because literally every day I post here, some wacko just goes off on me personally when I just post opinions. I don't directly just personally offend members just for the sake of doing it. And I don't mind if people do that to me, I just want to respond so is that ok?

Offensive is offensive, and if you post offensive or racist opinions, or responses, expect them to disappear.

What do you mean it doesn't matter if I do, do what? If I respond to a post when someone is calling me an asshole? If I did post somethin offensive I would expect it to be taken down of course. Or IF I posted something that was racist then of course.

What I mean is, it doesn't matter if you think you have a good reason, or if you think you're right, or even if you think you're not being racist at all.
It doesn't matter why you posted it, if it's offensive or racist, or culturally insensitive.
Even if it's absolutely correct and really intelligent, if it's offensive to someone, it's at risk of disappearing.

I understand what you are saying.
But "culturally insensitive" are you kidding me. Does that exclude being "insensitive" to the American Culture? Half the crap in the political section is just bashing America, bashing Americans, bashing American culture? Am I wrong? Is that the only culture people can bash with impunity?:wtf:

It's "up to the mods"
If they think it's offensive, it's out.
-- If you are deemed making immature, contentless posts, consider your account will also be be PERMANENT banned. (this is up to mods and admins)
-- No Racism, No Personal Attacks on Others and or Co-Ops/Dispensaries, No threats of violence and/or the Like
The buck has to stop somewhere. And the mods are a pretty diverse bunch politically, so most reasonable views are acceptable.

No it's not ok to respond to posts that violate the rules with a response that violates the rules. You are just about as guilty as the one who started it and you will be subject to infractions.
If you are flamed we expect you to be mature enough not to lower yourself to their level. Report them don't lower yourself to their level. We don't want people to see in fighting between marijuana users for one thing. Second we don't want things escalating from one or two flaming posts to a whole out war. Third flaming someone is the weakest form of debate and happens quite often and that isn't allowed. You can't beat someone with the merits of your argument then you go after them personally, that's not going to fly.
Another situation is responding to posts that talk about banned subjects. If someone starts a posts about off topic substances, you can't use it as an opportunity to respond. Someone posts up porn you can't say well this is my chance to do the same because I didn't start the thread.

That's what I am talking about!
I want to respond to bad posts with responses that are within the rules. I am asking if that is acceptable. I think I gotcha guys! Thanks!

You have been stirring up the left in politics...no doubt about that! BUT...that is your right just as it's theirs to ruffle your feathers just a bit. Just keep in mind, heated debate is FAR from personal attacks or insults.
Post with the wisdom layed out by FBR and IF there are posts of the nature you mentioned........just report it.
Have a good one!

It's tons more fun than being on a forum where everyone agrees with you!
I appreciate the honesty and candor from the mods thank you!:)
