I have a DWC hydro set up next to a soil plant. both 7 days into flowering.
and I have been notesting these tinny brown bugs crowling on the leafs of my soil plant. they look long. and they don't ever fly. see pic.
and I my soil also has white flies.
I have been killing all of them hand. And its getting too hard to keep up.
and all the bugs I'am seeing WERE only on the soil plant's leafs.
but now I am starting to see them on the hydro girlies.
but the only part of the hydro that I see any bugs is the part that is kind of tuching the soil leafs.
so what can I buy or make that will get rid of them all for good.
PS:the pic is quick art of the brown bugs I see. like 3-4 to a leaf. only on the soil leafs.
please help on this one. thanks very much.
cuz I really need my buds to grow as good as they can.this time.
so thanks and have a good happy tomarrow to all.

so thanks and have a good happy tomarrow to all.I would never spray anything once your plants are in flower. I would use Hot Shot No-pest strips.
They are safe to use in flower, BUT...
DO NOT go into your room while they are in there unless you vent the air out first.
They won't kill spider mites, but they should take care of your white flies, and if those are dormant fungus gnats (I can't see very well from your pic, but that would be my best guess), it should take care of them too.
Keep it dry, and as close to the base of your plant as possible without leaves actually touching it.
Can you get a better pic of the bugs?
Good luck.

Sounds like both larval and adult thrips- the larvae are brown-tan and live on the low leaves of plants, where thye feed and make little silvery munch trails.
Take a paper plate that is large enough to cover the whole pot and cut a slit to the middle. Slide it over the pot around the stem, leaving plenty of air under the plate. This keeps the larvae from dropping off the leaves into the soil to complete their life cycle. The hydro plants only have thrips because you have dirt plants in the room. They NEED soil.
To kill them, no-pest strips are good and pyrethirn bug bombs are too. Only bomb if you have 3 weeks or more to harvest. There is a bomb that is safer closer to harvest but it's only found at grow shops, not at home depot or whatever. Ask the shopkeeper about that.
Bomb well after you harvest, and then again 3-4 days later to kill non-exposed life stages and eggs.

well thanks for the great info stinky. but I don't see any trails. maybe I just can't see em.
so the paper plate idea really works good?
and what does this meen? This keeps the larvae from dropping off the leaves into the soil to complete their life cycle. what happends then??
and why do they need more soil?
well I'll do what ever I hafta do to get rid of all these bugs.
and also what gets rid of white flies?
thanks for UR help.

sorry, the bugs need soil to reproduce. the larvae drop off the leaves, burrow into the soil, and pupate into adults. then they have nasty thrip sex.
the bomb method works on whiteflies too

ok well for some reason when I just looked at my soil plant in there. all the brown buds just seemed to have dies off.
I'll check them in about 30 minuts to see if there R any new ones or if they have came back.
and I have only seen these brown bugs on the soil plants.
the white flies R on both plants. but not that many at all cuz I have been killing them on site with eze.
and I'll try the paper plate thing.
and whatever else U cool ppl through out there.
and see what works best.
but I'm only trying things that U vet growers use. cuz U ppl seem like smart growers cuz U'v grown long time and tryed many things on UR garden.
and thanks agen for UR help on this.

On a quick note, the yellow sticky traps (with no chemicals) do an excellent job of catching thrips, white flies, and fungus gnats. They do particularly well with white flies, and are cheap and non-toxic :)

OK well there back. and I need a good spray mix that I can make.
and so far I'V only been wiping them off with a wet Qtip.
and to night I put a cup of vinegar in there in hopes it would get rid of them.
because it worked well when I tryed it a few weeks ago in the kitchen. I put a cup of vinegar out on the counter and over the next few days the cup had a bunch of micro bugs all up in it.
so I wanted to see if it work in my grow room.
and I was thinking of taking my soil plant out of the flower box cuz thats where there coming from.
and it looks like shit. and her buds R so tiny.
and I don't think it would be that much of a loss because she look so dam bad.
+ I could then open up the canopy of my flowering DRO plants kind of like a super good lst/scrog job.
and I would stick her outdoors just for the hell of it.
so here is a pic of the buged out bitch I ma put outdoors tomorrow for sure.
becuz the flowers on my DRO plant look so dam good and I don't there beautiful buds to get runed cuz of fagit ass bugs.
1st pic is of the witch Ima get out of the flower box.
2ed pic is of 1 of my meny indica dro flowers.
3ed pic is of 1 of me meny sativa dro flowers.
4th pic is of the whole dro garden.

If you do crank that bitch up for about hr or so. suffercate those bitches. just make sure you hold your bresth going into the room to turn on your exhast fans. works great. just dont leave it on for to much of a time becuase it can hurt the plants. later
