grow box is 160 degrees + in under a minute. please help

Hey so i currently have a couple seedlings growing under some lights in my room.

i have a grow box in some room in the garage. Its a transparent container that i painted white on the inside, and then hooked up 2 bathroom light racks each with 3 spots, and a hundred watt max per spot.

so 600 watts of light, and in 60 seconds the box goes from 60 degrees to over 160. (thermometer can not read past 160).

i am using 100 watt full spectrum light bulbs

i am going to attach a pc fan for exhaust to the box but i really dont think it will help that much.

the box is an oven.

What do i do to lower the temperature?

Incandescent lights are all heat and useless for growing, light. Switch to CFL's.

how do i know if they are cfl's? do they say on the box?

CFL's are the bulbs with twists or triple tubes...look for one that has 5500k-6500k rating on it...for starting/vegging seedlings.

that doesnt look too safe at all, your going to start a fire if it hasnt already, those look like styrofoam cups, they'll melt, has your plastic container melted yet???...unplug that immidiatly and change your lightbulbs...cut holes in the side or top of your box...i'd suggest something much stronger, but if you're using pc fans then get at least 2, one pulling air in, one blowing air out, your plants will never survive in that heat otherwise, nothing could, fuck thats almost boiling temperatures...this is how people die in house fires, maybe shoulda done a bit more research before starting this....

I hope he knows to get the blueish looking (and package prolly be blue too) DAYLIGHT CFLs , not just the regular yellow looking CFLs that don't say DAYLIGHT on the package for the veg phase. :D

yah i got it all taken care of. i took everything out including the paint which just peeled, and then i spray-painted the inside white, the outside black, i got another rack of lights, so i have 9 x 23 watt 5500 k bulbs (over 60 watts per square foot) and i got a big computer fan. temperature is stable at 68 to 72 degrees.
