My first and only plant is nearing the stage of preflowering it is in its 5th week of veg and about 11" tall. The main question i have is that there are blister like sacs on the bottom couple nodes which resemble the pictures at the bottom of Link (http://cannabis.com/growing/sexing-what-does-an-emerging-male-preflower-look-like.html)
these do not have any growths and are just a sac right now but my question is are these sacs specific to male plants, it seems unlikely to me as it would be such an easy way to sex without havign to wait for the multiple flowers but this is the only pictures ive seen that show these sacs and the title of the page scares me. In addition I have some timed release high nitrogen plant food is this a bad idea to use as i know that the nitrogen a plant gets fed should be limited when it reaches the flowering stage.

timed release plant food mixed in the soil is a crapshoot. It can interfere with your other ferts and if too much is left when you are switching feeding schedules as for flowering, then yes, it's a bad idea. Organic supplements are a little different- guanos for example- which are released very gently compared to those chemical ball things in osmocote lol. Check in the 'organic growing' section for more discussion of that.
Okay the blister things. I think they are more a trait of an individual strain rather than m/f indicator. I've seen them quite pronounced on some females, while on others, they are almost nonexistent- the petiole and secondary growth just kinda sprout out without much ado right from the stem, with a small callus on the side (this is what you want to scrape into when you clone btw).
