1. if you see the picture where all plants are in one containt the middle front plant, you can see the leaves at the bottom are a little shrivvled, whats wrong? (i jsut today switched the system into seperate buckets)

2. ROOTS....my roots are not white they seem to have some type of brown slime on them??

3. are these buckets in the picture light proof, they are just white buckets i got from lowes?

other than that is there anything else you see wrong or right please let me know i would really appreciate it...THANKS

your roots don't completely rotton, thats good. you didn't give very much information besides your roots rotting.. but i'll try to help

you should have you water temperature about 68 degrees, can be achieved by freezing a 2litre filled with water frozen if you have a large enough reservoir. Bad stuff wants to grow in warm water..

Nutes + Light + water = algae

White buckets are the least light proof color. The easiest, most
effective and probably even the cheapest way to light proof your reservoir/buckets is aluminum metal tape. A roll is very cheap, you just line the outside of the buckets and/or reservoir with it.

also, if you can afford it in your budget you should get some hygrozyme or hydroguard to keep regularly in your system, keep the roots healthy

you can look into 35% hydrogen peroxide to try and clear up the root rot too

there should also be enough dissolved oxygen for the roots as well, (enough air pumps for reservoir size)

*edit*
also, i noticed you have rockwool cubes popping out of the top of the rockwool. If you don't bury them in the hydroton, it can grow algae too

but

you should have a cover for each net pot anyway, to block all the light. I just cut thick black garbage bag as lids for the tops of the netpots, and cut a slit to the middle of the circle so i could slip it on each netpot with the stalk there

I'm not sure anything is wrong with your roots. Can't really tell from the picture. Are your nutes organic? If so that is probably your harmless brown slime.

Like the last guy said about the buckets. But just buy black buckets at your local hydro store. Like 5 bucks a piece.

And if you choose to cover the top of your net pots (and their are different schools of thought on that), then dont use garbage bags, go buy a couple of feet of panda film and cut them into squares with a hole in the middle. The white side will reflect light back upward.

Thanx guys

So when I get this H2O2, how do I apply it to the water. The buckets I am using are 2 gallons each, how much am I supposed to use per gallon and when do I put more in etc..

Before you use hydrogen peroxide, you need to know all of the nutrients you are using. Many nutrients and additives have beneficial bacteria that are killed off by the extra oxygen.

I would recommend cleaning out your system and then using a product like Botanicare's Hydroguard.
