Dudes,
Let??s get real here, shall we. My biggest concern right now is. Which candidate is going to be our biggest ally in the legalization of medical marijuana on the federal level? I mean come on. How long do we, as a people have to suffer in pain because our government won??t ??let? us self medicate with a medicine we can grow for free. I mean if I could grow vicodin, or percocet in my closet, I wouldn??t care so much. Hey, prescriptions are not cheap. Even with insurance, I??m a forty eight year old man, with my blood pressure, cholesterol, and sugar meds, add pain killers and I??m up to over $250.00 a month. That??s a car payment. When are we going to stand together and say; ??Hey, I??m in pain, and I can??t afford to buy your prescriptions any longer. I demand a federal medical marijuana law?? how many millions of marijuana users are there out there? Even if you only count those of us who use for medicinal reasons, we are quite a force. Again, Which candidate is going to be our biggest ally in the legalization of medical marijuana on the federal level? Think of that when you go to the polls. Or better yet how about more marijuana users even bothering to get off their stoned butts to vote at all. Let??s put someone in the Whitehouse who might consider our needs on this.

Im not realy sure but I think id vote for Obama.. Would be good to see a black president and id like to hope he'd learn to love and evntully start smoking weed, Which would hopefully lead to legalizing cannabis..

Obama, Clinton, Romney, Mccain, they're all the same. Every 4 or 8 years the real political power heads just shuffle these dipshits around, but nothing really changes.
The only person close enough for doing that was Ron Paul.

Personally I think a president who can negotiate us a prompt and dignified exit from the mess in Iraq, and clear up the economy, is top priority. But that's just me.

Marc Emery supports Ron Paul. And I've seen Sundance rate up a few Ron Paul posts (not trying to put words in his mouth tho.).

Ron Paul is definitely not the man to enact medical marijuana legislation. Ron Paul is so extreme right, that it intersects with the the extreme left on certain issues and causes confusion. Ron Paul would oppose giving the federal government more power to enact laws.
As for the candidate most likely to enact medical marijuana legislation....that's rephrase that because there are going to be no allies. But if I had to bet, it would be Obama by a hair. Not more likely to do than Hilldog or McCain.

Vote for who you see as the closest person to your own values and dare I say dreams. I am a staunch liberal and am torn between McCain and Obama, I see both people to speak their minds, even if it is unpopular, I also see both as people to go against thier respective party lines to support an issue that they deem vital to our body of nation. My parents are Democrats and I was raised that way, but I can see the benifits of the republicans and democrats. It sucks that they can't work togather to benifit us all. I want a national medical mj amendment, I also want to know my job isn't going to be shipped overseas to china or india. Social issues are a wash. But most poingintly I want these politicians to know that because their millionaire lifes are easy, that it is not so cool for the rest of us.

Dude,
Of course those are a priority, but this is a MJ forum, not an anti war rally. Now back to the topic?

Well, Stinky can answer you for herself, but when I replied to her post with, "War and the economy? You got some craaaaazy mixed up priorities!" I was being sarcastic and backing her up. Those would probably be my top two issues as well, followed by environemental issues.
When I heard you say, "Who should I vote for President?" and then "My biggest concern right now is. Which candidate is going to be our biggest ally in the legalization of medical marijuana on the federal level?" it seemed like a pretty narrow range of priorities to me, personally. That is your biggest concern? Maybe I misunderstood, but it sounded like you meant you were going to base your vote for president on this one issue. Sure this is a pot forum, and everyone here would support legalization, but if you ask "Who should I vote for President?" you should expect to see someone raise other issues that might affect your choice. Here is a possible list of things you might consider along side WAR the ECONOMY and LEGAL MMJ:
ABORTION
AFFIRMATIVE ACTION
BUDGET & TAXES
CAMPAIGN & POLITICAL REFORM
CRIME, DEATH PENALTY & DRUGS
EDUCATION
ENVIRONMENT
EUTHANASIA ("Right-to-Die")
FOREIGN RELATIONS
FIRST AMENDMENT, FREE SPEECH & THE INTERNET
GAY RIGHTS
GUNS
HEALTH CARE
IMMIGRATION
INTERNATIONAL TRADE
LABOR UNIONS, JOBS & BUSINESS
MILITARY, WAR & VETERANS
SOCIAL SECURITY & SENIORS
This list is from this thread: http://boards.cannabis.com/politics/141228-create-perfect-president.html
There is a lot of important stuff going on in the world in addition to the fight for legal MMJ.

This is tough stuff
He is basing his vote on 1 thing that in a Presidental
Election is not even on the table, so you will never be happy.
That's funny.
Undecided voter.
Read and decide for yourself I guess.
Don't know what to tell you.
Vote for really important issues, think about everyone else too.
O watch lots of news on t.v. too.
Talk to lots of other people that are young and educated!
Examine closely what they all say!
.................................................. .....................................
I bet you will figure it out good luck! Really you are just the kind of voter Ron Paul is looking for! Just be sure you make an informed decision! Whoever you vote for at least have a clear idea of WHAT they will do not WHAT WILL HAPPEN after they rub their hands together and snap their fingers. Try asking "what specific action" or "how" a candidate will do something that they just said that gets you all excited!:D Like I said Ron Paul baby!:S2::icon506::S3::blueknife::fish:

ron paul would take the constitutional approach and take the power away from the feds and end the war on drugs, and give it back to the states to make up their own laws about it...
and i don't buy the the whole left/right thing... it's really just a made up paradigm... the real spectrum seems like anarchy on one end, and dictatorship on the other... from no government at all, to total government control...
we're a constitutional republic, which was designed to be as close to anarchy as you can get, but with a rule of law designed to protect peoples' rights.
ron paul would bring us back towards a constitutional republic, the fake left or right candidates we're being told are our choices are going to bring us closer to the dictatorship end of the spectrum...
it's pretty obvious why ron paul is basically being ignored in news coverage and at the debates... he's such a threat to the establishment, military industrial complex, federal reserve, cia, the empire...

Dudes,
Come on now. All those are BIG issues, so big that everyone is already considering them. Only an idiot bases their vote on one issue. When I decided to start this thread, I was suffering from one of my headaches, wishing I had a legal way to use marijuana to make it go away. At the time it was my biggest priority, try having a headache so bad it leaves you unable to function normally, and see if it doesn??t change your priorities, at the time. Anyhow, On top of all the issues in the media, (see above list), the ones all the candidates are talking about, I want to know who is most likely to consider medical marijuana an issue worthy of their time, if they get put in office. Of course this is not an issue they would talk about publicly. So I ask in a forum where I thought I might get some intelligent answers, not being put down, for something that to those of us who NEED medical marijuana, and live in a state that doesn??t recognise our right to self medicate find very important on a personal level. That does make it, to me, a priority equal to any listed above. I??m glad there are those of you out there that only use marijuana for pleasure, but please don??t forget about those of us who sometimes NEED it, not want it. So, let me say in closing, I know those are BIG issues listed by "DRAGORIDER". Issues that we hear about all the time. I'm asking about an issue that you never hear about in the media. So if anyone has any Info about which canidate I'm looking for, i'd like to hear about it. So i can consider this issue with ALL the rest when maikng my decision.

Yes, but since Ron Paul opposes giving the federal government power, he would rid us of the DEA (as well as many other unconstitutional federal agencies), thereby legalizing marijuana (as well as all other narcotics) on the federal level. After all, according to the 10th amendment, these decisions should be made by the states, or their people.. Not suits in washington.

Ron Paul is the only one who said he would repeal all federal laws regarding marijuana, and pardon all non-violent drug offenders.
What did any other politician ever definitively say they were going to do?
Nader might be the only other one, if he runs.

Really, where did he say this, when? I want to see it. I hear this all the time, funny, his campaign website for some reason doesn't mention a word.:wtf: SHOW ME WHERE. I have heard plenty of people say that ABOUT him. I have never heard him say that. PLEASE SHOW ME. And then explain how he specificlly does that with a class 1 narcotic. Thanks.:wtf:
BTW, Look up Mike Gravel.(Not that I would support him) He actually has the guts to state his position PUBLICLY unlike Paul. (Like a campaign website for example) Paul lets people believe as much as they want to without correcting them. SHOW ME SHOW ME, then again, EXPLAIN how he claps his hands and rubs them together and legalizes a SCHEDUEL 1 NARCOTIC.
He is perhaps more dishonest than even the libs, at least they don't know half the stuff they say is ass backwards, they believe it. He knows better and is taking advantage of a very small block of voters that he KNOWS have no candidate that will support their position. He makes alot of insinuations and then lets these people run with it and think whatever they want. He is VERY careful about the words that he chooses, He is a fraud.:D
You want to support some one and send money, send it to me. I will do just as much as Wrong Paul. NADA!

Kush said it best, Ron Paul isn't a genie. He has to deal with the judical and congressional powers.
Although indicated in his voting record, he would do that, as he voted yes on the State and Federal Medical Marijuana Law Enforcement and Implementation bill, which would prohibit funds for Justice Department to enforce federal laws on states that chose to enact medical marijuana laws.
