Hi all,
First time posting here, and not sure if anyone ask this already. So I'll ask.
I've already heard a lot about the Volcano Vaporizer. I know it's the best, (or maybe the best is the Vapezilla?) But it's just too pricey for me. I'm a beginner and dumping such big chunk of money on something I never get to try is kinda crazy. So I'm seeking opinion on the 2nd best! Please recommend only if you have use it.
So I'm asking opinion for the 2nd Best one. I prefer bag, convection heat, and good thermo control. Obviously, price, quality and reliability should put in consideration too. So if you HAVE used Volcano and HAVE use the one you gonna recommend, please share here!

What makes the Volcano the best vaporizer? Does it do a better job of extracting vapor than any other vape on the market? Seems like that should be the criteria. It's for certain that nobody's proven that. In fact, quite a few people say the herbalAire is as efficient as the cano, or even more so. I've been using a herbalAire for about 18 months and I can attest that once it's processed the product, it's done-you can't squeeze even a wisp of vapor out of it with a cano or any other vape unless you turn the heat so far up you're getting smoke. While I haven't compared it side by side to the cano, I have used one and it didn't tempt me to ditch my herbalAire. Vaporization is a simple process-apply heat and get vapor. Beyond that you can only fine tune for efficiency, and quite a few vapes are capable of extracting the maximum vapor. Some just take more work than others. And I really don't like to compare bag and whip delivery. It's like apples and oranges to me. There are pluses and minuses for both types, and it depends on the person's preferences as to which is a better fit.
Since you like bag delivery and want an affordable, quality unit, I'd have to recommend herbalAire (what a surprise ;) ). There aren't a lot of bag units to choose from and herbie does just as good a job at half the price of the cano. It fills the bag slower, but it's easier and cheaper to make multiple bags and easier to clean as well. It also does direct draw, although it's not as satisfying to me as a good whip vape. Certainly great for a quick one hit, since it heats up fast. You've got more 'stuff' to deal with-separate pump, air line, two power cords. No big deal IMO, but I guess it bothers some people. The company's customer service is outstanding.
There's a new vape on the market-the Extreme, that does both whip and bag delivery-even has a remote. It's an upgraded V-Tower with digital controller. I have the V-Tower, and it's a quality vape, so on that basis, I'd have to give this new vape the thumbs up, even though I can't comment on the bag filling efficiency. But it is pretty much a 'one man company', and being a brand new product, reliability hasn't been proven.

I'd also give my vote to the Herbalaire. I've had one for close to a year and love it. Vapefiend's description is right on. Go with the Herbalaire.

I hope the cops are enjoying your Volcano twitch. ;)
The other is Vapir One, not Vapor One, and it is identical to the Voodoo. The older versions in particular are famous for crapping out. Current version (5) is supposed to be improved. We'll see.
As for getting what you pay for, that's true with vapes like the Vapir One that offer fans and digital displays for $150. Or cheap, made in China, no warranty digital box vapes that sell on ebay for under $100. OTOH, a Vaporwarez box without the useless digital display, but including a 5 year warranty, is a solid value at $120. Not much to go wrong when all you have to worry about is a dependable ceramic heater. The more mechanical and electronic parts you have, the more likely you are to have problems. Even the reliable Volcano can fail, although it's rare.

I like the aromed more than the volcano.
Aromed is smoother, more precise in temperature control, healthier (not even convection, but lamp heated), very durable, cheaper, the only place it comes short is how fast you can smoke. Cuz the volcano can get like 20 people destroyed in minutes,

The Aromed is definitely the most overlooked top quality vape on the market. If you live in Germany some of the insurance companies will even refund the cost for patients getting relief from not only mj, but other herbs as well.
It is a convection vape. The heat source, a halogen bulb, is above the bowl and the heated air is drawn through the herb like any other convection model. The loaded bowl can be left in place while the heater is easily moved away, removing the heat until another hit is needed. The halogen bulb lasts a long time and is easily and cheaply replaced. It doesn't seem to be a big seller in the US though, probably due to the 'lab look'. What I like about it is that, unlike other quality digital units, there is no forced air.

Thank you guys, HerbalAir seems to have the most votes, and it looks like Volcano. My only concern is the built. Since it's mostly made of plastic, is it well built? how is it cleaned? is it heated with conduction?

Conduction is not used by any quality vapes. Those are 'hot plate vapes', where the herb sits on a hot metal surface and only the part in contact with the hot metal gets cooked. These are your dome, globe looking vapes-like a gumball dispenser. This type was my first vape and believe me, it doesn't compare to even the cheapest convection vape.
Been using my herbalAire for going on 2 years. It's very well built. It's not made of plastic. The shell is is a very tough material that's a mixture of glass and nylon. Very easy to clean. You just have to be careful when cleaning the heat chamber. Clean with an alcohol soaked cotton swab but turn it upside down to make sure no liquid gets down below the chamber into the guts of the unit. The mouthpiece and stem are teflon, quite safe at the temps used, and also cleaned with alcohol. It's much, much easier to clean than the Volcano, which has more parts in the vapor path.
You can use it for direct draw hits as well, but it doesn't compare to a good whip vape in this mode. Great for a quick one hit, since it heats up fast, but hits are thin compared to the rich hits you can get from a vape like the SSV.
IMO there is no 2nd best vape, because there is no 'best vape' period. Although herbalAire is just as efficient as the Volcano, if not more so, neither one is the best vape if you don't want your vapor from a bag. A vape like the SSV (or even a basic box like the Vaporwarez) is just as efficient at getting all the good stuff vaped, it just takes more care and effort. There's definitely a learning curve for the direct draw method. And the $500 digital whip vapes give even more consistency and temp control than the analog whip units. I know people who have owned the Volcano and Super Vapezilla or Vaporfection, and some prefer the whip unit while others prefer the cano. I don't like to compare a bag vape to a whip vape. It's apples and oranges. The big difference is the convenience and ease of filling bags vs. the thick vapor you can get from a good whip unit. Sure not every hit is thick vapor. But the ones that are can be very satisfying. And yeah you can get very dense vapor in a bag, but the vapor to air ratio is still higher with a lot of whip units. Personally, I'm hooked on both methods, so I'm glad I can afford both types of vaporizer. :D

I am extremely dissappointed that GotVape.com will not stand behind the "guaranteed" warranty they promise on their site. Ordering from this site will likely result in you receiving a "rebuilt" product, and a loss of $$$.
I assure all of you, I AM NOT A VAPORIZER RETAILER, and have no hidden agenda here. I am merely warning all of you that Gotvape.com is not the place you want to order from. Don't be fooled by the promises on the site of "discounts" and "warranties". I am out $300 on a product that WILL NOT function properly.
Their female sales rep talked me out of a $500 vape, insisting I would enjoy the $300 vape more. Since I had explained $$ wasn't an issue, her insistance convinced me that there was something she knew about one of the vapes that I didn't. I then ordered the one for $300. It works like SH*T! I have used many vaporizers, and this one JUST DIDN"T WORK!
Now, Cori Febres, their Customer Relationship Manager, has refused to exchange the vape for any other type. This is "against policy". No $$ can be returned, because "that's against policy". They will send you another "rebuilt" vaporizer. That's it. THAT is there policy, and 45 minutes of politely pleading on the phone won't help. She laughed at me when I finally mentioned using a "chargeback" on my credit card, challenging me to try.
I own 2 businesses, therefore, know how "policies" are enacted, and how customer service is acheived. Certain circumstances require special measures due to the situation. If I had chosen the cheaper Vape on my own, I would not be posting this message. However, GOTVAPE.com misrepresented the product, and stand behind a powerless warranty. ORDER AT YOUR OWN RISK FROM Gotvape.com

Well, Bringer, I see you're bringing your Gotvape vendetta to this forum too. Totally off topic post as well.

I got a vrip tech. It's a slide for a bong with an adapter that fits on the end of the bowl. The adapter is widemouthed for a heat gun. The heat gun I use is a home right heat-pro deluxe I got off amazon. The bowl and adapter cost $50 plus shipping and the heat gun cost me $40. So I got a kickass vaporizer for $90. Best money I ever spent on one. Heats up to temp in about 2 seconds and you get most of the vapor by the 3rd hit. I found out about it in the cannabible. The guy who wrote it talked about it and I agree that it is the best way to smoke your weed.

I had to chime in about the 2nd Best Vaporizer on the market and my positive purchasing experience with Got Vape.
I used to own a Hot Box Vaporizer then I chose the Extreme Remote Control Vaporizer 6 months ago.
I love this unit because of the ability to fill up a Vapor Balloon or use a Vapor Wand. Also, the extreme allows me to set my fan speed at 3 different levels!
One of my friends dropped my Extreme and not only did Got Vape provide exceptional service, even though it was my fault, they upgraded me with the New Extreme Q for only a $50 handling fee.
The lifetime warranty is legit and I don't know how someone would have the urge to downgrade this company, got vape has taken care of me for years!
Everyone should use their Vaporizer Finder on the site and get on the Health Tip.
