Hi everyone, short time lurker first time poster here.
Now that that is out of the way I have a question for the community or anyone experienced in this.

For the past month or so I have been smoking out of a vaporizer exclusively and have alot of leftover vaped herb.

Recently I ordered a honey bee honey oil extractor and am wondering if I can put it to use with the leftovers.

My question to the community is, has anyone tried this before and what are the results? I see several possible outcomes but would greatly appreciate some input:

Outcome 1: The vaped herb works fine just like some low grade trimmings or even beter since it has been heated and the thca has been activated so whatever is leftover will be plenty potent.

Outcome 2: very little and very weak oil

Outcome 3: (worst case) for some reason the butane reacts with the vaped herb differently than it would unvaped due to some weird chemical reaction and there goes my arm.

Ya outcome 3 seems out there, but you never know, and when it comes to pressurized explosive gasses I would love to get some expert input instead of blindly attempting this.

Thanks :smokin:

Well... i never tried butane extraction myself, but i know well the physics/chemistry behind it, and im sure the vaped weed wont make the process more dangerous than un-vaped weed. So, the outcome 3 is not possible. The chances of an accidental explosion are the same using vaped or un-vaped weed.

I know people use to cook with the vape leftovers, so there is still THC in it. And if there is THC, you can get some working honey oil. Of course it will be weaker than if you used un-vaped weed, but maybe it still will be very good... the surest way to know is to try. You have almost nothing to lose (maybe some butane) and a lot to win (lots of honey oil), and thats why i suggest you to try it. Im almost sure the results will be good enough.

So, good luck, and tell us how it was!

Thanks for the reply and the great info, the extractor should be here early next week (hopefully) . I will post some pics if it works well.
