So i was moving my plant(about 2 months old) and it had just shown it was a female when a notebook fell and broke off id say the top 3 sets of leaves and now there is no top. is it just going to split off into new branches and leave me without a bud on top?

Correction, you should end up having TWO buds on top... as long as the plant survives, can still produce new growth, and can repair itself. Do it again later and when you flower should end up with four colas on top! But you might want to think about using a pair of garden shears next time, and not a notebook.

I experemented with 2 plants taken from the same mother.... I clipped each tip using the FIM technique on one plant and left the other as it was.... I noticed before harvest that my FIM plant had more flowers on it than the untouched one, Also noted at harvest that the FIM buds were tighter and better developed.

Not all is lost.... Be sure to clip the snapped end clean at a 90 degree angle with a steralised blade as to make sure that no infection occurs.

FIM, when done right, can produce four or more new shoots at the site of the cut...where traditional "topping" will produce only two. It's a great way to create a literal canopy of bud sites up top, and in my opinion, works best when you train each branch so that they receive equal amounts of light. Just don't go overboard with it, or you'll end up with an unmanageable bush!

Well i FIM'd quite a lot of my plant and it did get a little bit unmanagable.... But since is was a Cheese x Afghan i perservered with it and harvested a nice 6 1/2 ounce cured stinky crop :D

At the last few weeks of its life i moved my lighting to a horazontal position to achieve maximum light absorbtion by the buds, I must admit it made one hell of a difference :)

Well I have many more things to try as i have only been growing for a few months, But so far had very few problems and always managed to sort them out myself :D
