hey people
i have a couple of plants,which are on 12 & 12 now for 2 weeks.
the plants were turned when they had about 5 nodes (arms) & were about 1 foot high
in the 2 weeks they have been flowering they have grown to about 5ft with hardly anything on the plant
i didnt snip either plant as there wasnt anythig on them .i just let them grow.can any1 tell me when they stop getting so high,or is it better to snip at the right height.
i also had 4 shiva plants growing & they grew to 6 ft+.
here are pics of the new plants,im in 2 minds weather to just get rid of them & start again
any input wud be appreaciated
thanks,dizzy spells

sorry about the plants but it looks like bamboo!..lol i use 40 watt cool white about 3 or so inches away from the top and the plants dont stretch out, best of luck to ya man! maybe top them and get them more light, keep it close, 40 watt cools dont put out alot of heat and they are very cheap ;)

A good way to keep em small is to tie em down, gently over a month or so, ull have a big horizontal stalk with loads n loads of shotts which u can then snip, ull end up with a little hoood : )
obviuosly its abit late to be doin that now there flowerin : / .
peace.

OK, to me it looks like your lights are too high and the plants have grown tall to reach it. What type of lights do you have? If your using floresence lights keep them right on top of your plants, they dont get hot and as long as the plants dont touch them you will notice a alot more growth. I would hate to tell you to start over, so go ahead and finish them out. You will get real stringy buds but its better than nothing.
Next time ether put the lights right on top of your ladys or get yourself a true grow light, like a 400hps or a 400 metal halide. They are a little spendy but worth it. Good luck, and good growing.

if u'd of snipped the top off while they were still in veg they would of bushed out more an more likely to get more nodes on em

Those plants make me feel sad. :(
Okay, when you start flowering, stetching is 100% normal. For the first 2-3 weeks, the plant stretches, making room for the incoming buds. It is normal for the plant to double in size during the first 2-3 weeks of flowering.
To me though, it looks although your plants are hurting for more light, and stretching for flowering. Your plants will continue to grow upwards and stretch even more if you don't give them more light. So do it, dammit! :)

Some of the best pictorial examples ever of a plant streching for light.
