Research went into this it was found 18/6 was the best out of all the light cycles. It's not totally natural, but it promotes plant growth most.
The dark period is important as when the plant rests from the sun it seems to grow up/and leaves grow almost twice as fast than in the light. Least thats what I've heard.
Either way, there should be NOTHING wrong with running 24/0 and then moving to 18/6 I did it and the plants seem very happy,

id go with the 18/6 for such a young plant. the darkness helps promote a healthy root structure which is very important in the begining. after a few weeks you could switch to 24/0 after you feel like theres a substantial healthy root base.

i heard 24/0 can put the plant at a higher risk of hermie later on (just what i heard, i usually veg 24/0 myself), but that its good for the first week or two. so maybe 24/0 until you get some noddage then 18/6 til flower.
