Who is a fan of EDM? Music of the future, I say!

Most people just call this stuff "Techno", and instantly have a stigma against it. Don't knock it till' you've heard a few tracks at least! You'll probably like it .

A few starter tracks for those interested:

"Feel the Universe" by Juno Reactor (Somewhat psychedelic)

"Shivers" by Armin van Buuren (World's #1 DJ, what's not to like?)

"Star Guitar" by The Chemical Brothers (Just sounds downright magical)

"Silence" by Delerium (House music, guaranteed to be heard in dance clubs across the globe.)

"Beautiful" by Ferry Corsten (This song is, as the name implies, BEAUTIFUL)

"Ready Steady Go" by Paul Oakenfold (Great song for driving on the highway at ridiculously fast speeds)

"Carpe Noctum" by Tiƫsto (Makes me want to party!)

You could be a hardcore raver (PLUR, hahaha), or just another bloke who enjoys a groovy beat to love this stuff. SO WHO HERE LOVES ELECTRONIC MUSIC?

I love it.
I used to enjoy mostly psychedelic rock music, like the Grateful Dead and Iron Butterfly (I am an old school Hippie).
I still LOVE psychedelic rock, but now I mostly listen to Trance, Hard House, Lounge, and Chillout EDM. :D
I find there's more originality and creative talent involved than there is in new rock music.:(

I like Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold, and The Chemical Brothers, but they others I've never heard of. You might want to check out EBM, Electronic Body Music, and Front 242, who is the first band to use that term. Their music is old, might not be easy to find, but it's worth listening to. :)

These days I'm more into the experimental Drum n Bass (Squarepusher, Venetian Snares, Aphex) and IDM (Autechre, Boards of Canada, Amon Tobin, Chris Clark etc..) but I still love me some ol' Big Beat electronica. The Chemical Brothers are awesome got a bunch of thier older stuff, as well as Fatboy Slim and The Crystal Method, Prodigy, Daft Punk, Meat Beat Manifesto, Overseer, Oribtal, Juno Reactor etc..

Any of you guys ever listen to Layo & Bushwacka? I got thier album "Nightworks" after hearing a song somewhere, I don't think it's too well known but well worth looking into if you can find it, kinda a jazzy/classic drum and bass/trip-hop sound it's very cool and the whole records got a pretty chill groove, but moves enough to keep you moving.

I'm also into a lot of the instrumental more hip-hop inspired type stuff these days like Prefuse 73, RJD2, Daedalus, DJ Shadow

I absolutely love them... they're what got me into electronic music. They just might be my favorite group .

Their album Beyond the Infinite... I can't even describe what that album did for me. But it was good. Wayyyyyyyyyyy good.

I'm more into the the progressive and experimental side of the EDM scene. If you want to lose yourself in a good trance you can't go wrong with Beat Bizarre.

Lemon Jelly's "Nice Weather for Ducks" when stoned (or perhaps rollin' nuts...) is heaven sent. "Spacewalk is a close second. Right now I'm trying to get into dance music like Triumph. The "Lovestoned" remix from Triumph is awesome, so I'm trying to find more shit like that. Reason I ask is I'm a DJ at a local bar, and like to change shit up from the typical modern rock and 80s sing-alongs my boss asks me to play.

Yeah, only now do I realize I meant the Justice remix of "Lovestoned". Justice....

You all need to do yourself a favor and get:

James Zabiela (Renaissance Collection) Tracks 9, 10 and 11 on the first CD are unreal.

Mark Farina (Mushroom Jazz Volume 5)

Hell yes, I dig the electronic music. There is something about the unique samples that just dig into your head. It's like you become one with the music. Nothing like it in the world. Makes me glad to be alive. And yeah, Tiesto is good.......
