Well afghan could be the one strain "afghan" or it could be an afghani hybrid from the mountains of afghanistan. If its afghani it would be pure indica. I on the other hand cant say it would treat panic attacks. I know for sure if your not a seasoned toker a strong afghani bud could give you some panic attacks.

I would say probably no, Afghan hashish is nice but it is heavy. I recommend a nice mellow Ketama, or a good polm. No harm in trying it though for yourself though, each to his own. It is probably the better choice between that and skunk though.
>Is it pure?
Depends on first of all it's real Afghan hashish, and it also depends on the rub. The first rub of the plants that grow wild in the mountains is usually the best, and often called cream or supercream. After a few rubs you start to get bits of useless plant matter ending up in it and subsequently diminishing the quality. I don't know what kind of shit they use to cut it, but I'd guess anything that is black and slightly oily. The only way to be sure of what you are smoking is to pretty much go and pick it yourself.
NEVER eat it, you can contract diseases like typhoid from ingesting charas, a lot of it is picked by local people who wipe their arses with their left hand. I know that is not the question but I thought it might be worth saying just in case you weren't aware.

There are already a couple odd statements in this thread.
Afghan, the strain, which is considered by some to actually be a subspecies of the species Cannabis indica , is actually a very RELAXING toke.
I find Affies and their derivatives to be quite helpful with my anxiety. Even Afghan hybrids share the calming effect.
Pure indicas do typically share a relaxing effect. The idea of 'too strong' weed giving panic attacks seems limited to overly-heady pure SATIVAS, rather than indicas.
I am going to assume that this thread was originally about green bud Afghani rather than a secondary product/concentrate. And yes, as with any vegetable material of unknown origin, do not eat bud or hash without heating it first (follow cooking instructions)! You wash your fruit before eating it, right? You never know how it has been handled.

What kind of Afghan are we talking about, the stuff that grows wild in the mountains or a type of bud that has derived its name from the same word?
As far as I know it is not advisable to cook with the first kind at all.

I smoked some nice afghan last summer, and i found that whilst it got my nicely high, it also seemed to give me a burst of energy. It sounds kind of strange, but with that and the combination of sun, it made me stand up quite briskly and start running, it felt great.
I don't know if that qualifies it as a good treatment for panic attacks, I think in any case you were probably referring to the other kind of afghan anyway, not the mountain charas.

In that case I can see why you are asking here instead of just smoking it and seeing for yourself. (better to know before you grow) I recommend consulting the medical gurus on the this one.

FOR PANIC ATTACKS, YOU SHOULD TRY INDICAS. SOMETHING VERY STRONG LIKE BUBBA KUSH, OG KUSH, LA CON, ETC. ASK AROUND AT THE SHOPS. BUBBA KUSH CURED MY ATTACKS. AND REMEMBER TO NEVER SMOKE ANY SATIVAS OR ANY HYBRIDS, THOSE MAKE PANIC ATTACKS MORE STRONGER.:hippy:
