My policy with Met Life expires in April, and I'm looking for a new insurance company, but their rates are all much higher than they should be. I've been driving for 4 years with a 11 year old Toyota, no claimed accidents, no moving violations, I make ALL of my payments on time, yet my rates are in the high 700s...

What insurance company do you use/suggest?

I have mine with State Farm.... for both trucks and 2 utility trailers, I am only paying $132/mo with real high limits($100K/$300K liability, $50K uninsured, comp, collision, road service, and all the extras including no deductable on the glass on a 2005 Tundra, and a '91 S-10

You rates are not just based on what vehicle you drive, but a lot has to do with where you live, you age, driving record, previous accidents, and other things that make you "high risk".... like DUI, Posession of a controlled substance, etc.

When I lived in San Francisco in 1984 - 1989, I was paying $150/mo for basic liability on a '76 mustang with a 6 cylinder. I paid about the same in New Orleans on a '74 mustang with a 4 cyl

There is something to be said for being an old fart(52), living in a small town, rural farming community in south Mississippi

At 18 years, fresh license, I got $400 a year for a 96 Ford Taurus.

The guy at Farmer's Insurance hooked me up though. On their record I've been drving since I was 16.

Good student discount helps too I guess.

Oh, and this is in Orange County where insurance rates are very high.

shit, i have allstate, and the car is in my dads name, and we have a bare amount over the limit for the car, and its like 2something a month, or about 1200 ever 6, its crazy expensive, and ive only had 1 ticket, i dont get the discount for a good student, cause im not, and its retarded, i hate insurance and its requirements to have it, cant people just drive good enough to not get in accidents like I?

Never had an accident reported, no speeding tickets, not moving violations, posession arrests or anything, and I have good grades, in addition to literally living in bumfuck nowhere for my part of the county... :(

Age has a lot to do with it as does the vehicle. If your 21 or under, all bets are off. Don't look for any significant decreases until your at least 25....provided you don't have any increased risk factors.

I have good rates with State Farm conisdering I am only 19.

But if you are a safe driver, like you seem to be, you could go with Allstate cause they have that thing where they give you a check every 6 months your accident free.

It makes me sad to say...that I must have the worst rates.................in the world. lmao well, $200 a month for second rate insurance.

I live in south florida, im under 25(20) and i've had some tickets. all state, progressive(which is what i want), gieco and state farm would be charging me like 300, 450 a month..

I should be okay once I turn 25.. i'll have great credit by then and as long as I keep driving the way I do, I won't get into any more accidents. it's the OTHER drivers who scare me. seriously, miami has SCARY drivers. lol
