Hi All,

Im going to Amsterdam for a couple of months in march and wondered if anyone who's been there for that kinda time period had any advice for me. living there and the different areas etc.

We were on quite a budget then realised that if we go through and agent to rent a house (the only real option is to go through an agent) we'd have to pay the agents the same amount as our first months rent for sorting us out. so it kinda ruled out renting a place.

We've got about £3000 between us.

Definitely keep us posted here on what you do! I plan on doing stuff like this during the summers when I am a teacher and was wondering how it could be done. You, sir, are a pioneer.

I spend a month in Holland every year.
You can find weekly/monthly rentals without an agency. You'll pay more monthly, but you won't have to pay the agency.
I have found them by googling 'amsterdam apartment'.
I usually stay at the Bulldog Hotel for part of the time (27e per night).
