Hey guys. I wanted to know how you guys cleaned your bowls after they get really loaded with resin. The air flow in my bowl feels like its getting a bit constricted, so I want to clean it out soon. I know one of my friends gets most of the resin out with a paper clip and then puts it under the bathtub faucet to get it spotless. is this ok?

I came here and did what someone suggested
use a paper clip to get some of the resin out, then some hot water in, and then put some salt and rubbing alcohol in and shake it real hard, and all the dirt comes out. I believe they recommend 99% alcohol here but I used 50% and it worked (not sure if the percentage affects anything :/)

I just soak my glass pipe in a drinking glass full of 99% isopropyl alchohol for 24 hrs and it disovlves everything right off, then just rinse well with water and let dry.
To get 99% you usually have to ask the pharmisist for it becuase its behind the counter but they never ask questions. If they ask tell them you use it to clean computer electronics, which it is used for alot.

Put a little bit of rubbing alcohol in your pipe and a little bit of salt and plug the holes and shake it around and all the res will start to come loose from the pipe and then you can dump it all out and then rinse your pipe with water then and it shouldnt be pretty clean you might just have to use a q tip to get a few spots but other than that this method will clean most out of the res from your pipe.

I actually like the formula 420. It's like ten bucks for a bottle and you only need a little bit. Plus it doesn't smell like alcohol and it doesn't have a bad taste if you smoke out of your pipe right after you clean it. Kinda fruity smelling...

Being a former resin smoker, I used to do this, too. (ok...I still do occationally) I let pipes/parts sit in a bowl of alcohol overnight, then clean off all the parts, take em out and rinse well with water. Where we differ is, I used to let the bowl (instead of a cup or glass) of alcohol/resins sit till all of the alcohol is evaporated, and resins are almost dry. (careful of flames...it'll burn) Then I'd scrape the resins out of the bowl and place it on a flat surface (plate, credit card, ziplock bowl...) to let fully dry. Called it "CrappyHash".

It's probably the same stuff that orange cleaner is made out of, but with a salt in it or something....
I wonder if orange cleaner works, since it is a degreaser. Has anyone tried it before?

Ive used 420 solution since my first bowl and i have found that i like it much more as it has no aftertaste and covers up lasting bud smells.

Put some really hot water on it and take a heavy duty brush. It works for the bowl at least ;)

I are the mistake of using lightning degreaser on a color changing bolw, and it messed up the fuming. I only use the alchy/salt method now
