ok when ever some1 mentions pink floyd there always think of darkside of the moon which is an awesome album but its not there best i personaly think there best album is piper at the gates then saucerfull of secrets. i think the best song writer was syd barrett definatly his lyrics are intense. what do u lot think of pink floyd?

Have you seen Live @ Pompeii? that dvd is the shit! They play in an empty roman collesuem. echoes is like the main song on it, they play a really good version of echoes

The Special Edition DVD of the Wall was released not long ago. with lots of extra stuff. Plus the VINYL version of The Wall Live for 20 bucks. Hey Pepsi if you are reading, I dont know if you know this yet but there is the directors cut edition of Donnie Darko out now. Saw it at Best Buy today. I already have the original DVD. And to be honest, I dont really care for DVD extras.

that film was made to trip to seen back in the 70s at the local cinema some friends and i dropped a tab each we still mention it today when we meet up it was a awesome experience,,,allot of floyd music takes on a life of its own when listened to on acid,,,,,,,,piper at the gates of dawn is Barrett at his best unfortunately a casualty of LSD and other non prescribed drugs

i just downloaded this boxset called "a tree of secrets" and its like 18 cd's with demo's all the stuff off their singles.....LOADS AND LOADS of stuff its pretty damn good.....

im listening to wish you were here right now....i love this album it's soooo good.....if you havent heard it i sugest you listen to it.....its only 5 songs but those songs are some of the best floyd songs ever written imo.

my favorite pink floyd song is probly wish you were here.........sends shivers down my spine every time i listen to it.......which isnt very often cause i like to keep realizing how good a song it is...and now you know :)

I was tripping on shroomed weed when I heard Comfortably Numb, and all I can remember is that I understood something about the song that I never had before. The next day I woke up and couldn't remember what it was.

Was that the austrailian cover band? I wanna see them. I love pink floyd they're my fav band of all time. I know every album and basicaly everything about them. A lot of people just like darkside or the wall but if you want to experience the true floyd aura you must listen to their older stuff, like pipers at the gates of dawn and obscured by clouds (which is my 2nd fav album) My fav album although without waters, is division bell, i love that album its so kool to chill when you're stoned and listen to it. Best songs imo are probably echoes, shine on you crazy diamond and marooned. Also the first song from atom heart mother, 10 minutes in the guitar solo is absolutely amazing especially while you're stoned. Gilmour is god! Imo pink floyd = best band ever.

Wish u were here is a great album, prolly my fav of the ones ive heard, in fact every song on that album is a fav of mine.
That fat old sun from atom heart mother is 1 of the few songs i like on that album.
dark side of the moon of course is a great album. Gotta love time, and money, and pretty much everything else on that album.
The wall, yet another great one, cram packed with hits like hey you, and the very relaxing Comfortably numb.
Echoes from meddle is another fav of mine.
Ive only heard a little bit of the first two albums, but i want to hear more.

I like everything Floyd up until The Wall. To me, that album is not really Pink Floyd, but rather Roger Waters's first solo album, featuring David Gilmour. I'm not saying it isn't good, there' some amazing stuff on it, but to me it's just the beginning of the end of Pink Floyd.

However, everything that comes before that is pure gold. My favorite songs are Astronomy Domine, Interstellar Overdrive (fucks you up when stoned), Careful with that Axe Eugene (Creepy!!), Echoes, everything on Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here and Animals.

Shine on you crazy diamond is on dark side, right? There was one I loved that had "dance songs" (i'm not kidding) in the title, or something like that. I don't think they were more popular tunes, but I listened to that quite a bit. Don't remember the name of the cd... something with "dance" in it.

"A Collection of Great Dance Songs" is what you are thinking of. Its a compilation of good songs off different albums. "Animals" is my favorite album by any band. Pigs and Dogs. Sweet, plus they are too long for most radio stations to play, so they don't get worn out. "The Wall" movie is awsome too, especially tripping, although sometimes it can get a little too intense depending on your mindset.
I'm a little burned out on most of the songs off "The Wall" and "Dark Side" due to
radio overplay. I never got to see Floyd live, I will regret that forever.

My Favorite Floyd album? Depends on my mood, goes back and forth between Dark Side, Animals, Wish You Were Here, Meddle, and Disc One of Umma Gumma.

I wish they'd do another tour. I saw them back on the Division Bell Tour and it was the most incredible concert I've ever been to. We had waited in line 18hrs for tickets and ended up getting 10th row center. They played all of Dark Side, begining to end. During One of These Days this huge inflatable pig with red glowing eyes floated up from behind the stage. Unfuckingbelivable. Ahh, the memories.

Oh yeah, anyone who likes Piper At The Gates should check out the two albums Syd did after he left/was kicked out of Floyd. One is called The "Madcap Laughs" and "Barrett". Not quite the same as Piper but still classis Syd.

My favorite floyd album is animals. My favorite song is a tossup between pigs (3 diff ones) and dogs.
