Growing in DWC style when I switch from veg to flower,do I have to drain the res and start flowering chemicals??Or can the veg and flower mix be put together??

If you mean keeping the reservoir full of vegetative nutrients, and then adding flowering nutrients to it, no, don't do that. If you do decide to do that, only do it for the first week or two of flowering, when the extra nitrogen could be used for stretch.

The problem with not changing your nutrients is that you can't be sure of the composition. You can't tell how much/little of the vegetative is left in the system, to be mixed with the flowering nutrients. You are better off knowing, as exactly as you can, the composition of your nutrient solution so that you can make adjustments as needed.

depends how big of a system it is and how much water the plants drink. I never change my reservoirs when i go into flowering. I never change the water. Only add nutrients and water. My gravity reservoir (that feeds the control) uses tap water un-ph'ed. This is great because in flowering my pH naturally drops so the 6.8-7 pH of the tap water helps keep it solid at whatever I want. I run a higher pH in veg, around 6. End of flowering I move lower to 5.6 or so.

if your system is small and the plants dont drink a lot so you dont add a lot of water, a water change should be easy anyways so you should do it. For me its a couple hour extravaganza even though it is setup to be as easy as possible. Takes a while for everything to return to the controller.

thats all my opinion. but I am just saying. I see people say its not possible and trust me its perfectly possible. This picture is Purple Kush, grown in a single DWC bubbler, that has never had the water drained or changed. I just add water and nutrients when needed. It gets water about twice a week. It was a mother plant for 3 months and now its getting flowered. Never changed, never moved, never even taken the top off, never cleaned.

dont forget that you need a good bit of nitrogen in the first few weeks of budding and this is essential for getting big buds.

I didn't know it was ok to add water to the rez??? I thought the only time you could add new water is in the process of rez change.

You should probably be adding water to your system then. You want to maintain approximately the same nutrient volume all of the time so that the concentration does not rise/fall. My buddy checks his 5 gallon reservoir every other day and needs to replenish about a full gallon each time.

You need to also find out if your plants are consuming the nutrients from the solution, and at what rate. This will determine if you top-off with plain water or if you add some/full nutrients.
