help with drying marijuana

they have been hanging upside down in my closet for about 4 or 5 days now and they are starting to smell like hay. Anything i can do to stop this? Before i hung them up i cut all the fan leaves off so i dont know whats goin on.

Your buds are ruined. The best thing to do is seal them in plastic bags and send them to me. I'll dispose of them properly for you. heh heh heh. :jointsmile:

In reality, they're just doing their thing as they dry. The hay smell is natural and a passing thing. If you don't know about curing, read up about it. There are a couple of good threads on it here. First you dry, then you cure, then you have good smelling/tasting bud.

I'm assuming you've taken some samples? If that first hit tastes (minus the chlorophyll) like good hash oil, then you're totally screwed and there's no saving the potency of that plant. PC was just trying to make you feel better. May I insist that you send them to me instead? :D

After they've cured for a while and marinated in their own sweet dankness, the smell will catch up to the taste. And the taste won't be so "green". Enjoy the results of your hard work!
