rule of thumb is 1 gallon per foot of growth.
Just remember the larger the root structure, the larger the buds. Go with as big a pot as your situation allows.

i got 5 gallon pots only because my local hydro store was out of 3 gallon.... lot of people say go with 3 gallon which i would take that advice cause i just did a major flush and flushing 5 gallon pots are a bitch cause you gotta run 15 gallons of water through em..... i would say if your growing indica go with 3 gallon and if your growing sativa go with 5 gallon. thats my $0.02

well bong... you can transplant to a one gallon pot but remeber the bigger the pot, the bigger the roots, the bigger the buds. How far along are your plants your going to transplant? I use rockwool cubes for my seedlings then i transplant 2 weeks into veg into a 3 gallon pot. After 2 months veg in transplanted into a 5 gallon pot. then after 1 more month of veg i put her into flowering. Also are you growing Sativa or Indicas?
