In Canada guns are regulated, you do not get a free gun if you sign up for a new bank account. We have a government run medical plan so that if you get sick you don't end up on the street because some hospital wants their cash and they foreclose your home. We don't use God as a pawn in politics. We try to be rational about gay marriages and the fact that all people are equal. Marijuana will soon become decrimanilized so that money being wasted on sending people to prison and keeping them there will go to other things and it won't fuck up your life, ie a criminal record. The ghettos in the good ole USA are a hundred times worse then the ghettos in Canada and as far as trading is concerned you'd be screwed if we decided not to trade our natural resources, your heating bills would skyrocket, you'd be scrambling for water, and your dollar would sink like a stone at the bottom of the lake. The USA did not make Canada, the immigrants and aborginal people made Canada. Now don't get me wrong I live here in the good ole USA, the people on the whole are good people, but when you attack my country I'm as just patriotic about Canada as you are about the US. I'm all for gay marriage. Screw the hypocrites who call all homosexuals promiscuous perverts and then try to stop them when they want to enter into the same monogamous relationships as straight people. Just because America is 70% Judeo-Christian doesn't mean that the beliefs of the rest of us should just be ignored. Because I happen to be an atheist who was born on land that happened to have been stolen by Puritans centuries ago, I should respect Judeo-Christianity as the national religion (which isn't even a religion at all but a group of related belief systems)? I don't get it. The founders of the country wisely decided to keep religion out of government. If you want to believe in Christianity, that's fine, but you have to learn to respect other people's beliefs too. And don't try to feed me that "America is Great because I say so" crap. I highly doubt you would make such claims if you were born in, say, India or Japan. The fact of the matter is that there is no objective standard by which you can compare nations to each other -- even if you wanted to choose something like quality of life, the US isn't #1. Check out the UN Human Development Index (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UN_Human_Development_Index) for example. Norway, Sweden, Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, Belgium and Iceland score above the US. But it all depends on what factors you consider.

I like to think I'm one of them, but not without the proof to back it up -- I got 1390 on my SATs, maintain a 3.9 GPA at university, know more about geography than anyone I know (I'm a bit of a geography nerd actually), can speak 5 languages conversationally and am learning 3 others. I know how to spell properly, am well-versed in English grammar and do keep myself updated on what's going on internationally and have a good grasp of world history.
