or will the end result either come out as small yeild or schwaggy or middy bud? i dont grow but was just wondering since someone was saying how weed can grow under every day common CFL bulbs.. but I personally dont buy it, but then again I dont know much about it.. but would assume it would only be sufficient enough for the plants early growth stages.

It is done every day. I have smoked the results, and they can be very good.

interesting.. but what type of quality does it yeild? Is beasters the best CFLs can grow? Or can headies and exotic quality bud be grown under CFLs?

High quality, but lower yield.
Good sticky medicine, but not tight dense buds.

Its all a matter of how many, how big, and how close you keep them to the plants. You can buy a whole bunch of cfls and get just as much as a hps, but you would be getting to the point where it isnt cost efficient. i believe that hps has a better lumen/watt ratio, so while i can be done, it'll be more expensive for you to do so.

Here's an interesting one I just read.

Gee, I wonder how they grew cannabis indoors before there were HID's? Oh, yeah! Fluorescents!!!

you already got your answer... yes... but at some point it is more efficiant to upgrade to HID.
indoors you generally calculate yeild. by available light... (per watt usually, although correct spectrum light is an important variable as well)

IMO, that point is 225 Watts.
If you are using more than 225 watts of CFL, you might as well be using a 250 Watt HPS. Your plants will be happier, it will generate more light, about the same heat, and use about the same electricity.
