6x6 would be a good start.. 4 plants,do a scrogg. The larger the space the easier it is to control heat issues.

Thanks for the info....my room is 7x7 with all white walls and ceiling and even the floor is white ...8 plants gives me 1 lb of sticky good size buds but I feel that I should be doing better using a 1000 hps. So is my room way to big ????:smokin:

If you get anything close to 2 lbs then you're doing great. If you get over 2 pounds you are a master gardener. It all depends on the strain and environment too. 4x4 is about perfect if you want monster sized buds.

If you haven't seen the Tranoble thread, you need to check it out:

The title says it all!
Porkbellies - you don't want to go less than 50 watts/ sq.ft. 4'x5' if you have a rectangular reflector; a little over 4'x4' if you have a square one. You don't necessarily have to completely enclose the grow area - a 4'x5' grow area in a 10'x10' room is fine - but the grow area/room does have to be completely light-proof.

THANKS ..maybe that is what i will try next time ...put 4x4 in my 7x7 room and see what happens. Thought i had to build a new room but by putting a 4x4 in a larger room just might work eh. Larger buds would be nice and what would be the right amount of plants in that 4x4 area 8??:smokin:

Yes. It will work just fine. Filling your space with light and plants is more efficient, but you'll still get enough reflected light with this scenario.
Larger buds would be nice and what would be the right amount of plants in that 4x4 area 8??:smokin: That depends on the size of the plants. Assuming you have a 7 ft+ ceiling, I would recommend four 16 to 18 inch scrogs. in 5 to 7 gal pots, for maximum bud growth..
