Well, regardless of whether you love him or you hate him...now you get to talk about him.

Heath Ledger found dead in NYC at age 28... (http://omg.yahoo.com/heath-ledger-found-dead-in-nyc-at-age-28/news/5898)

So far, they're thinking drugs were involved. (Don't they always.) It's always terrible when a young life gets extinguished early because of drugs, regardless of what you think about the person.

Ya, I thought A Knight's Tale was not a bad movie.

BTW. I already started a thread on this over in Tv/Movies Forum

Ya, I thought A Knight's Tale was not a bad movie.

My wife and I have seen, and enjoyed, Knights Tale...and I thought The Brothers Grimm was pretty clever, too. I wasn't his biggest fan, but I can recognize that this'll be a big loss for the acting community. Regardless of whether you're a millionaire or an average Joe, it's always tragic when a young person has their life cut short by drugs.

And sorry for starting another thread on the topic, I obviously wasn't looking in the right area of the forums. Sorry, I'm still a bit of a noob 'round these parts.

Sucks so hard, he actually was one of my fav. people to see in a movie, he had great acting qualities.

He was good in A Knights Tale, my mother and sister loved it.
He was good in The Patriot
I can't wait to see the sequel to Batman, where he plays the Joker, and he looked perfect at it. He has the jawline for that roll =)
Loved him in Lords of Dogtown. Played the part perfectly.

and my sister loved him in "10 things i hate about you"

So, I was kinda pissed when I heard he died, let alone possibly having to do with drugs, if anyone takes there life with drugs, doesnt matter who is it. THEY ARE AN IDIOT.

He and his former wife had a three and a half million dollar townhouse in downtown Brooklyn.

He was a good actor, I'll give him that.
But dabbling in serious narcotics.... eeek, not a good idea.

No sympathy from me unfortunately.

news update says sleeping pills/pneumonia mix or something.. autopsy inconclusive, supposedly he was straight edge seen drinking water while out with friends while friends get their buzz on. if sleeping pills is what did him thats just wrong, last night i dont even remember what time i went to bed cause i passed out after taking some bong rips to the dome tv on and everything. the shit put me out. sleeping pills make u feel like shit he was taking two at a time because he was bothered by the role The Joker in batman. how bad could it have been? all of this is from the news btw so who knows if they are true.(except for the weed parts, those are mine:thumbsup:)DOC should have prescribed fresh green bong rip before dinner and bed.

He was a good actor and seemed like a good guy. Also he didn't seem to have drug issues --- apparently he was pretty clean, and didn't even drink much, if at all. No one really knows for sure yet what killed him and won't know until the autopsy comes back, but if it was illegal narcotics it will be a surprise. I'm guessing it's something else, either a prescription thing gone wrong, or something health related that was undiagnosed. But who really knows.

It's a shame to see the life of someone young and promising cut short like that.

ill agree he was a good actor but man he was in some gay ass movies. i thougt a knights tale was pretty gay and the patriot, well just seemed like mel wantin another braveheart to me. oh and of course brokeback mountain wich i refuse to watch. however brothers grim was pretty cool. i guess tho all those movis look real damn good on an actors resume so cant blame him for takin the parts.

im gettin retty sick of seein this in the news however. in 1 hour of news i seen it 4 times each time tellin me there was an update. comeon how much more could have happened from 10 minutes ago? also seems like the media is tryin every thing possible to link his death to drugs.

Technically, it was only one real gay ass movie --- the rest might have been "gay" in a way, but not gay.

I don't understand how the patriot was gay, more than 3/4's of the movie is Mel and Heath just shooting muskets into peoples faces, or Mel throwing his fucking hatchet into the chests of red coats. It was pretty action packed from my stand point. I guess you could call it gay that he "fell in love" with a woman, but in the end that chick and the whole town get burned down to a crisp in a church so.... i guess thats "gay".

the knights tale u could say was gay, but the chick in it was very hot, and it showed jousting back then (even if not accurate) and not too many movies are based on that. I thought it was a good movie and I'm the first to say "GAY", and not watch a movie. Besides it was more of a comedy, and his "group" of helpers were more of the movie than he was.

have not seen Brokeback yet, but Lords of Dogtown was AWESOME and he looked like a perfect joker, sooooooo ya, good actor.

I love that hatchet scene with Mel when he goes all berserk on that one solider... I think Heath is hot in that movie, but I LOVE Jason Isaacs (evil British commander guy with blue eyes and dark ponytail)

I saw a Knights Tale recently, and I thought it was pretty good...albeit a little too romantic for my tastes. My wife really enjoyed it, naturally. I've seen The Patriot several times, but really always considered that more of a Mel Gibson film, than a Heath Ledger film. Either way, I enjoyed that movie when it came out...but I think I've ruined it by watching too many damn times. I do that with almost all decent movies. Lords of Dogtown is something I'll definitely need to see again. I've seen it once, but I must have been pretty blitzed at the time, because I remember practically nothing from it.

In all, from what I've seen, he was a pretty good actor in several of his films. He was also Australian, and I recently realized that he had a pretty thick accent. So for him to play some of these more-or-less Americanized roles, and do it well, speaks to his talent. But, alas, as is the case with many influential artists throughout past generations, we'll never know what he could have become. His acting skills aside, I feel upset that he died being so young. He had a young child, about the same age as mine, and was my age. For this to happen to anyone, regardless of their status in society, is a shame and a tragedy to all those who knew the person. Regardless of if it was accidental or intentional, it doesn't make much difference to those who are in mourning...the person is still gone.

On a side note, I overheard somewhere that Westboro Baptist Church will be boycotting his funeral. (They're the ones that picket soldiers funerals and have the mysteriously popular website, "God Hates F-gs".) They claim that Heath was a pervert for making Brokeback Mountain...but I really think they're doing it just to be spiteful. Apparently, that's what they're all about.

i thought the patriot was gay because like i said it was mel just trying to redo the whole braveheart thing just set in a differant place and time. lords of dog town was a good flick i forgot about that one and like i said brothers grim was pretty cool too.

i never said the man couldnt act he was a damn good actor just that he was in my opinion in some gay (maybe corney would be a better term) movies i thought. i also said that tho i may have thought them gay movies they do look good on any actors resume.

by the way i dont mean gay as in homosexual i mean gay like chick flicks are gay. like pearl harbor or the titanic were gay

^^Jeez now this thread is judging thew work he did while alive, give the man a break, and now they are saying the only drugs found in his home were for anxiety, insomnia and an antihistamine, so all you people straight accusing without factual knowledge keep quiet until the toxicology comes back.....This may have truly been a tragic accident.......:stoned:
