Yes, that is a group. My parents exposed me to them at a young age so listening to them brings back some memories of my childhood. Some might call it a musical supergroup, I certainly would, although its members probably wouldn't. The band consisted of Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynn, Roy Orbison and George Harrison.

The way they formed was by mere chance. They all were doing something that brought eachother to eachouther. Bob had a recording studio, george harrison was borrowing tom petty's guitar, ect ect ect.

Either way, this is such a great group that churned out some great music in the short timespan they were playing together. If you like any of those musicians, or multiple musicians from that list, check out the traveling wilburys.

I believe that Dylan and Harrison were recording at dylan's house and the others happened to show up and they cut an album. I have some video footage of the Silver Wilbury's with Dylan and Harrison but not the same without Orbison. I also have the complete recordings of the travelin wil's as well. Great band!!

Regardless of how they formed, they made some excellent music. It's fun to watch their music videos because they're always in a circle and jamming out together. Just real simple, but real awesome.

great band. i particularly dug that song tweeter and the monkey man where dylan did the verses and it was harmony when they go

and the walls came down
all the way to hell

then that little bit of keys came in. and you had to like the simple heavy riff too.

yep, great band.

Yes Brilliant band!!! I love the traveling wilburys and they are a huge influence on me as a songwriter. But then again so is each member as an individual as well.

I'm so glad Mr. Orbison made that record with them before passing because he truely went out with a "bang" and couldn't of left us with a better swan song.

And I agree Tweeter and The Monkey Man is one of my favorite songs by them, along with Heading For The Light and End Of The Line.
