Stay away from Fox Farm!!! They are using recycled dirt from Sun Valley Floral Farms and not properly composting their product.
The Fox Farm facility is very very close to me and all locals, grow stores and soil supply all say the same thing -the quality has gone to hell!
I do hear reports on this site of people using it with satisfactory results. I am not sure what that meens, as it is NOTHING like what it used to be.
I stay away from Fox Farm like the plague.
Just my 2 cents.

well the thing is the soil i was using was 0.08% nitrogen 0.12% something else and 0.08% soluble potash and multicote slow release plant food and i guess this was much too strong because my plants leaves were soon curling up and turning white and the brown. i still have a plant from when i was using that soil and it is about a month old and it looks like it is a week old. anyways im basicaly looking for a soil that wont burn or cause nute lockout right now i am using 2 parts soil made for seedlings 1 part perlite and 1 part vercumlite or whatever its called do you guys think i will get better results?

im a newbie here but you can use just perlite and vermicilite if you want and add nutes that way you can control the intake
i personally dont like soils that have a slow release you have no control how much nutes are released
but i know ppl that use soils and have no problems
thats my newbie 2 cents

where abouts are you there is a northern lights in london and windsor there might be one in toronto im not sure of that one
there is hydroponics stores everywhere they can help you out
just look in the yellow pages
i use the hempy bucket about 60%perlite 40%vermicilite(my spelling sucks) thats it i use 2 parts dnf (dutch nutes) which i got at northernlights there are some home depots that have both perlite and vermicilite but can be expensive but less than what you would pay for shipping online
hope this helps good luck

hey im in winnipeg just wondering the exact nutes you are using and if you were able to get some decent bud out of that mix you use for a medium

no bud as of yet using this method because my buddy was getting
almost a pound per plant he used 3 parts nutes not sure what nutes he used i will go 3 parts nutes once i run out of what i have
DNF 2parts nutes is what i am using (dutch nutrient)organic,
its good stuff
this stuff is easier to get in canada look for a hydroponics store tell them your growing tomatos(almost the same as marijuana) i am gowing to add pics of my mother plant and what it looked like a month ago not sure if this is going to work if it does i will take pictures tonight and show you what the nute bottles look like
with growing weed its trial and error and a little help from this site
is a bonus

those are some pretty decent looking plants. i have yet to have a successful grow like that mine have all died before veg stage i think because of the soil and also stretching. anyone know when you can consider that your sprout has stretched too much is there like a certain hieght that they should be under like less than 3 inches or something like?

Why not just stick with good old promix or sunshine mix?? And just start your own compost after awhile.I really dont see why all the hype about foxfarm soil:rasta:

the reason i wanted foxfarm so bad is because i had a bad soil that was very high in nitrogen and had slow release plant food that is supposed to last 9 months and this burnt the crap out of my seedlings. this was the first soil i ever used so i just assumed all soil was crap except for foxfarm. I am now using 1 part perlite 1 part vercumlite and 2 parts seedling soil and it seems to be working just fine

Which soil was that? And unless you are outdoor and cant care for your plant i'd suggest staying away from those slow release plant food, you really have no way of controlling what your ladies get and when they get it.But seem like you have everything under control now. Happy grow

Hollands Secret from extremegrowing.com (future harvest development) is amazing food. Cleanest ive seen run threw aeroponics.
Its sold at betterthannature.com and at there local outlets in the peg.
I use Holland Secret 3 part
Nutrients from Better Than Nature (http://www.betterthannature.com/catalog/default.php/cPath/49?BTN_ID=32d0f25351b5057e257ddd6260178657)
And Phosophoload
Phosphoload - 1 liter - Misc. Nutrients (http://www.progressive-growth.com/proddetail.php?prod=22052)
I do add some Groteks monsterbloom or bud boom from advance nutriants
at times and found it to be as good as Holland secrets additives .
Anything else just lags
You can get away with just using 2 parts to a 3 part food, ie. Lucas Forumla which works well, and depending on what type of hydroponic set up you may need to add some Magnisium to the resevoir during the cycle, but that you learn along the way!:pimp:
