I've recently purchased a VaporGenie. It's supposably a movile vaporizer, in which the flame travels to heat up a ceramic filter.
I have a question: is there supposed to be smoke when you exhale? I'm not too sure on how it's supposed to work. It seems like I'm hitting it right.
Anybody else own one?

I don't have the particular vaporizer, but with mine, you do sometimes get what looks like smoke. It's actual very hazy vapor and is common with the first few times you vaporize fresh herb.

I had the hardest time with the one of those because I could never tell if I was hitting it right. As far as I figured out, yes you do exhale something but its not smoke. If you're blowing out smoke try holding the lighter a little further away from the bowl

I've got a genie. It's a good butane powered model because of the ceramic filter. The filter helps keep the herb from burning, but it's still tricky to get vapor and not smoke (you'll know the difference pretty quick ;)). I highly recommend a torch lighter with any butane powered vape. The flame is hotter so you can hold it farther away from the unit and it doesn't produce soot like a regular lighter. It's also a steady flame for better heat control. You do need to get one that you can 'lock on'-plenty of affordable ones on ebay.

I got one of these about 6 months ago, used it for like 2 weeks and then put it in my desk because I couldn't get it to work right. I just started using it again about 5 days ago and now I have figured out how to use it correctly. It just takes practice and learning what your mouth and tongue should feel like from the heat. You can inhale fast or slow. I think it works best when you hold the flame just barely inside the lip of the bowl and inhale at a steady strong speed. Keep going until your tongue feels dry and warm. Move the flame away. Then about every1.5 seconds hold the flame over the hole for a split second to maintain the temp. Don't have the flame to the bowl too much or the plant matter will burn. It just takes practice. And if you taste burnt popcorn you are giving it a little too much heat. After 2 or 3 hits i open it and crush the material. Also shake it up after every hit. You can just shake it really fast with the ball screwed on. Now that I know how to use it right its awesome. Just keep practicing and you'll get it.
