I think that Led Zeppelin is the greatest band of all time and would like to get other opinions. Im just in the mood to argue with anyone who will listen.:thumbsup:

well i would love to fight, but i can't because i %100 agree lol. i just had some old lady stare me down at the stop light because i was blaring dazed n confused and it was at the guitar solo(my favorite high guitar solo btw) when it gets really high pitched. good times, hopefully they have one last tour so people in my age bracket can actually have a chance to see them. i think they would be shocked at the amount of youth present during the tour.

Going to California is my favorite Led Zeppelin song. Immigrant Song is a great one too but Stairway to Heaven remains their greatest sound.

As the spokeswoman for the X Generation, we do in fact think Led Zepplin is cool. Generally I dont like any classical music but Led Zepplin is the exception. ANyone else who was on 8 track must have toured with Mozart & Beethoven.

Led Zeppelin is way to overrated. There way past their prime and there not as influental as everyone thinks. The only thing they influenced was the idea that you can get rich an famous by making music. They spawned this whole mtv era of music. Led Zep is pop from the 70's. All their songs are so similar in structure, even the lyrical aspect is nothing special. They may know how to play intruments but that alone does that a band great. im sorry but i hate this band with a passion. They lack the necessary bond that a band must share in order for their instruments to fit together seemlessly. Theres way better bands out there than zeppelin and pink floyd. Go download some real music.

i hope you are not imlpying that the dead were commercialy successful. they did enjoy some but not near as much as many other much less talented bands. they only got to be where they are at because of the devotion of their fans. a far as commercialy though they were actually not all that successful. i could name 100 bands that get 100 times more air play than the dead. and on the top of that list is zep. but there are sations that play nothin but the dead. but again this would be "underground" radio.

I usually agree with you, but Floyd IS real music. I'm not talking about the overly-publicized The Wall or Dark Side, I'm talking stuff like Meddle, Saucerful of Secrets, Animals, Wish You Were Here... Roger Waters is one of the best lyricists around, and Gilmour's guitar riffs are not speed metal, they are thoughtful, melodic, and complex. Compared to a lot of horrible repetitive pop and pretentious pseudointellectualist shoegazer bands today, I'd say Led Zep and the Floyd were/are straight up brilliant. That's why they've survived for so long.

Zeppelin stole a lot of their music without ever giving credit to the original composers. The only time they did was by court order. If you think that makes them the greatest band ever, then you need a paradigm shift. Without Jimmy Page, they're just another blip in the British Invasion; Plant couldn't carry the band without a great guitarist. Bonham was a good drummer, but not phenomenal. And most people don't even know who John Paul Jones is. They're good, they've influenced generations, but they are not the best group ever, by far.

I don't argue with people about opinions, but in my opinion Immigrant Song is the best pure rock song ever. Nothing like drawing upon ancient Norse tales of blood and gore for inspiration for rock.

I have never been a one style / one group sort of guy and I find it difficult to relate to the idea of "the best ever" as there is so much diversity in music. I love music from so many genres and believe that each style has it's good and bad points.
I love Surfin Bird by the Cramps but it is no exercise in songwriting , the lyrics of a lot of songs are absolute garbage , but as a whole package the song works.
One of my all time favourites is a song called Bloody by the Long Tall Texans and to be honest I doubt it would be to everyones taste , I don't realy care what others like as I believe if we all liked the same things that would be so boring I would be forced to go on a crusade to shake things up.
LZ were a rock group and as such could never be considered "the best group ever" , maybe they would be the best rock group but I garauntee all the soul fans or jazz fans would argue the point that musicaly thier choice was better.
Each to thier own .
I love rock and LZ aren't my number one ,I would have difficulty in choosing an absolute favourite because one day I can't get enough of The Animals and the next day I would rather listen to Alice Cooper.
I could fill this site with the names of the groups and singers I listen to and prefer to approach new music with an open mind as I believe that only by being diverse can I realy pinpoint what I like and don't like.
