Hello everybody,

I want to attempt to grow hydroponically and was wondering if anyone has any ideas on a cheap, fairly easy to mainting system that can hold up to 10 plants? if so can you explain how to make it including a list of materials..thank you?

This is one of several types of hydro systems. There is a materials and price list in there too somewhere. I found the air pump to be unnecessary. It holds 12 plants comfortably and can be adapted for different shaped spaces by finding a different type of tray to catch and return the runoff.

There are many types of systems, all of which can be homemade I suggest two Emily's Gardens for a begginer. Search Engine it.

opie, do you think those emily garden things would allow for multiple plants to fully grow and flower in them? i was looking at them and thinking i could keep a small but perpetual scrog grow with 2 of those systems if they were big enough.

Absolutely. I'm flowering now in one and have had many fantastic grows in an Emily's Garden and homemade ones too. http://boards.cannabis.com/indoor-growing/140716-lsttt-low-stress-twisty-tie-training.html

I had a longer than usual veg period this time, so I imagine there is a huge mess of roots in there, and they are doing just fine 2 1/2 weeks into flowering.

with a 400w lamp and two of those trays, any guestimates on the yield of that? if i could jsut have a mother plant and then two of those trays pumping out clones that i basically put straight in to flower after a week or two of veg..that would be real nice...hmm

Well they hold 6 plants each, so I'm thinking two 400 watters would be better for two Emily's Garden-type set ups. Or like me a 400MH for veg and a 600HPS for budding. Move some out of the flower room to dry, and at the same time move more into the flower room that are vegged and ready to flower. That's what I like. However if you do a real short veg like you talk about, the plants would normally stay pretty small, so one 400 might be OK. Of course more light is nearly always better.
