HPS & MH Shelf life [Archive] - Green Grass Forums

Anyone know if HPS or MH bulbs degrade by sitting on the shelf for extended periods (10-15 yrs) ? They are brand new in the box but have been sitting around quite awhile.:rastasmoke:

They are fine! Technology in lamps have changed for the better,though.I would get an updated lamp.One with a warranty.

Try them out and stick a light meter under the hood, or center of the lamp. Can't hurt! If you have that many? Your set if you get 50,000 lumens out of the MH or HPS or close to that then I would use them. What kind are they? Brand and wattage...
