Hey guys first time grower here.
Now I am looking for some tips on growing the particular seeds that I am supposed to have. They just sprouted the other day and are now in soil. Gotta get a heat lamp for them tomorrow.
The seeds are supposed to be orange cush.
So I need to know what time ratios to use for light and what soil to use, fertilizer, and just general tips on growing cannabis.

well frist of all whats your space your growing in? you should switch to Florescents for seedling and veg state. and how many plants you growing? you can get any florecents (i perfer 4 18'inch Eco-lux flows and 2 100w florecents) for that state (you can get almost everything at wal-mart or homedepot). but in 2 to 3 weeks turn your lights to 12 on/12 off to force your plants sex.. you dont wanna put all that work into growing and end up haveing a male plant. pics would help too! now having a fan is also go to help stregthen your plants and in the end the overall yeild of the plant. thats it from me right now :) :stoned:

Okay well so far I have 6 seedlings in soil (Each in its own small pot) with a 100w normal lightbulb on them for light/heat and a fan on low. Kind of a crappy set up but I'm gonna be low on money for two weeks or so. I'll go ahead and take a quick pic in a little bit. But its cold outside and my shop is way down the driveway lol.

And heres my small set up until I get the money to make my own grow cabinet/box or whatever. So I guess once I get them to bigger pots I will be using this small cabinet.

when you say 'normal 100w light' do you mean incandescent?........if so that wont work either, you need florescent or HID

I was actually going to ask the same thing, is it incandescent? because I can't see the actual bulb but I have one of those 80's lookin type desk lamps you are using too and those bulbs won't work...
Ya know...with all the floro switch talk now days, I wonder how long it will be before those bulbs are a thing of the past. But of course not until dimming florescents are made..lol

yea you can use florecents... my adivice get a Florescent (23w flo= 100w incandescent and the lumes is 1500 of one flo) and there $4.00 (2 per pack) at Wal-mart if you get around to it so that should be enough light for them or even one light. now remember what effort and time you put into plants the more they well love you back at harvest time...

Yea well I figure one bulb will work until they actually break through the soil. Once I get more fixtures I can make myself a grow box.

1 cfl wont do 6 plants. up it to 6 minimum until they start to get bigger. itll also give you the heat you want. 20$ and some minor wirings skills, and youll have yourself a nice light rig.

now with your lights.. you can do 24 on/0 off or 18 on/ 6 off just remember plants can only photothenese for 18 hours then they stop.

Alright so now I have a heating lamp, with a uv bulb or w/e and the same flourescent bulb but I put a new fixture in it so it actually gets all the plants. Should I change the uv bulb to a flourescent?

Heating lamp? Noooo. Excssive heat=bad. Unless you just scavenged it for the fixture and can put a better light in there. BIG BAD flourescent light. That's what you want. 'Daylight', preferably.

Oh. If you are in a cold part of the house -basement?- get the pots up onto chunks of foam, or something insulating, and off the cold floor.

Was hoping to get an updated picture for you guys sometime this week but the seeds just haven't wanted to sprout through the soil. I have 3 lights on these things and every one of the pots gets thorough lighting and the heater I have with them is keeping the air above 67 or so. Any tips that someone can share with me to help them come through?
