The other thibg thats a crock of shit and our government is too stupid to understand is this sets presidence. What if Canada wants to press charges against Dick Cheney for war crimes and illegal kick backs from Halliburton. Do you think the US will turn that asshole over to Canadian authorities?

...Not yet.
The deal still needs to be agreed upon by Canadian and American authorities. So unfortunately, there is still a possibility of Emery being shipped over....

I think it would be better than all 3 of them being sent to the united states for a lengthy federal sentence...the crimes were committed in canada, if canada feels the need to punish him, so be it..fuck the united states government..

That article is quite damning of the relationship between the US Government and Canada in how fairly simple law enforcement issues can be used to make more sweeping political statements- a real flexing of the US' muscles, as it were, or a bit of saber-rattling.
I'm disgusted. That sentence is outrageous. Assuming a guilty verdict, he really should have been let go with fines and probation. This is so transparently political it makes me ill.

this is the prince of pot documentary part that talks about the press release by karen tandy on his arrest, and it doesn't even mention what he was arrested for, but rather his political affiliations

That article almost made me cry. This case is fucked up on so many levels and I hope every single one of the people after him gets what is coming to them. I guess ignorance prevails.
Sigh... pretty soon Canada is going to start extraditing women who break Sharia to the Middle East to face prosecution.

Fucken hell, see this is why everybody hates america!
It's exactly the same as the u.s government killing hussein, not that he was a good man or anything, but they don't have power over other country's FFS!!!! and he didn't even do anything to america whatsoever. Again, for the psychos out there I'm not defending Hussein, just comparing the similarities between the two cases.
i think that im going to overgrow the town im going to put seeds in the parks and gardens all over town and if ur willing i want every 1 2 do this in there town 2 .
Oh my god, I was thinking the same thing a couple days ago and have seriously been contemplating it. Planting it in forest areas too so they can't just burn it if it gets found but they will have to pull it out by hand lol
You in Aus ay? Me too!!!! I say we could spread it between ur state and my state in a few years.... haha

ahahahahahahahahhahahah..."could you repeat that please peter, I believe I had something crazy in my ear"
Sorry, family guy.
But yes, we all wish that. Too bad I haven't stormed parliament and staged my coup yet. If I had, Marc could be one of my cabinet ministers.
Its good to have dreams.
I am ashamed to be an AMERICAN
Well, you needn't go that far...just be angry at the government.
Fucken hell, see this is why everybody hates america!

hah, yes this is what makes the world not fond of America. Oh, we don't like this man so we're going to just pluck him out of your society and into our jail. This case in particular is upsetting. Every day I wish I could help him.
You're right he didn't do anything!! He sold a product ...and then other people planted it. Why are they going after him? He didn't murder anybody, nor did he harm anyone.
His mission to make the DEA useless by selling so many seeds that it would be impossible to crack down on everything(which, as many have pointed out, boils down to a political problem) is the greatest thing I have ever seen. Its brilliant. I seriously don't know how marijuana isn't legal yet, for all the progression in history there has been.
NO FEDERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES!!!!!!! They are an infringement! and they lead to corruption. Everyone knows the DEA should not exist, and neither should the FBI or CIA. But hey, seems they have us pinned don't they.
He is a political activist, and should be recognized and saved by our government.
Too bad our prime minister over here doesn't have a set ..and our opposition, well, obviously can't stand up for anything.
If we had a democratic president and a liberal PM, this wouldn't happen.

Marc Emery should not be extradited (http://www.nationalpost.com/opinion/story.html?id=411251)
^^ That is just an opinion article.
The story is here:
Ottawa nixed extradition deal, says Pot Prince Emery (http://www.nationalpost.com/opinion/story.html?id=404225)
I thought I would add these as well..a little more recent, but further on the topic.
Seems that deal isn't what will happen, because our justice minister is terrible:(

It's rediculous how we play the global hall monitor. I used to think of America as a land of rugged frontiersmen and a place where people came to escape unjust persecution. I am slowly realizing that we act more like a scared tattle-tale, terrified at what "message" something may send, instead of the actual ramifications of the actions. Our motto should be changed to..."Warning: We WILL make an example out of you!!"
Not to divert into another topic, but it relates to our desire to intervene in situations that we are not involved. We declared war on terror because of murder and violence overseas. Meanwhile, roughly 50+ people are victims of homicide every day in the United States. These are American citizens, killing American citizens. Would we allow another country to invade our homeland to battle inner city violence? Imagine Germany invading Los Angeles to fight the gang population? It is absurd... yet it is what we do to other countries.
Ahh... I'm pissed now.
In the meantime... Stay :D and Keep

We do have a bunch of children running this country. I don't know how people can be so ignorant to keep electing these pigs.

Exackaly! :D
The only reason I care though is because, well beside it being downright stupid as you pointed out, whatever America does, Australia follows. Same reason I want weed legalised in America, Australia will do the same.

yea..but if you do that they just just make other people pull it. it would never actually be the cops getting there hands dirty, it'd be people working really hard and not getting paid enough to live. shit is fucked up
