When do you guys sex your new plants? What's your lighting cycle for sexing? Is 85 deg. average ok for lighting?

i am going to put the crop i have now into flowing after 1 month veg.... but most people say 2 months or when ever u think u have a good size....
if you grow indoors u need to keep in mind when u flower your plant it will get about 3 times bigger in the right conditions....
lighting is what triggers flowering... your plant can show sex in veg, but it will not make nug until u put it in 12/12 light
85 is ok but ur going to want 75... 85 is the max u want ur grow room at

I was sure I was gonna get some flak for the 85, but its only 85 for about 10 minutes. I have a fan kick on 10 of every hour, maybe I'll make it 10 min twice an hour. As for sex I was thinking about sexing, to see which ones I don't want, and then puting back into veg. What do you think?

that's a great idea . u should do this way .
keep them in veg for about 2 weeks , switch to 12/12 .
they will probably show they sex after 1-2 week but depend on strain etc.

Well, there's a problem with putting your plant into flowering to determine sex, then moving back to vegetative: you will lose about a month of grow time. It will take about a week or so to show sex in flowering and then about another 2-3 weeks to turn back when you take it back into veg.
You should consider cloning to sex your plants. Root some cuttings and put them into flower; if the clones sex female, so will your mother plant.

Hon, you might try what gainesvillegreen suggested. It's what I do. I let the seedlings grow until they have about 1 1/2 - 2 inches of growth above the 4 set of true leaves. Then I top them. The seedlings start putting out side branches and you should get 2 main colas with any luck.
Meanwhile, the snipped cuttings get their largest leaves removed as well as at least the middle leaftlet of the remaining leaves. I'm a "granny-style grower" and all I do is grab a ceramic cup, fill it with our lovely well water (no chlorine or anything), put some foil over the cup and poke a few holes for the clones. They get labeled and put into the closet with the "big girls" under 12/12. Most will set roots even as they sex out. As soon as they sex, they are put back under 24/7 or killed. But then the females have to reveg, which takes time.
And revegging can be a problem with some plants! I have one "sexing clone" plant that refuses to completely reveg- no lowrider in it as far as I know. She is happily setting buds under 24/7! If I didn't LST her, she'd be about 15 inches tall and she has several nice 2 inch buds. She gets to go under 12/12 this weekend. From her looks, she will be one solid mass of bud when she finishes! :D I took a clone of her when I topped her, and she too, is trying to set bud under 24/7.
Revegging "confuses" the plant and, IMHO, slows growth. Let your seedlings veg and get big, while you sex them with cloning. - Granny:hippy:
