re vegging

Hi all just took my ladies down and left some leaf material changed light cycle back to 24hrs. I changed res. to grow nutes I am running a ebb and flow set up anything I might nave missed.

You should see some new veg growth in about 2 weeks. However I recently had one take about 4 months, and she was really close to dead when she started coming around.

Thanks Opie I kind of figured it would take a little while, just checked them today and they look as if they are taking to the light change.

im doing the same thing,but wondering if you wouldnt mind posting a pic of how it looks after you trimed it down before moving over,im not sure if i left enough or if i left to much on it,any suggestions would help,thanks

I don't think I took any pictures after my last prep for reveg. Here's what I do: harvest all the top half and leave about 10-15 good healthy fan leaves and 5-10 little popcorn buds on the bottom half of the plant. The more leaves and the more buds you leave (both are important) on the plant, the better chance she'll have of coming back around.

does it decrease the yield on the next harvest if you have revegged and reharvested the same plant? potency? and about how much revegging time before you can force the plant into flower?

Some people say it reduces growth. You can get whatever yield you want depending how long you are willing to veg. It is impossible to reduce potency unless you know how to alter genes at a DNA level. If you are worried about fastest growth, then take a cutting from the revegged plant and grow that instead of the revegged plant. It will be identical to the plant before it was revegged. Anyway I have not noticed that revegging reduces growth, but I've only done it 4 times on 2 varieties.

It's not so much the time but how big and strong the mother is before taking cuttings. If you are growing with a small CFL, then it may take 6 months before she is strong. If you are using a 1000W MH, then it might be ready in 4 weeks. It just depends on if you think she can survive cutting some shoots off.

I have quite a bit exp. with revegging. It does take awhile but the crazy shrub that it turns into is a fantastic mom. The shoots go everywhere! I've had good luck with Blues, and BC's revegging. I agree that the more leaf and flower material left on the plant will give it a much better chance of revegging. I only do this though, if I have a plant that I can't get another, have another seed, or simply just have to have more of it. It should be a last resort. I found that Superthrive really speeds things up. Does anybody think that Sweet with it's transition stage smoothing properties would help with the transition? Just wondering, guess I'll have to do another experiment right...oh darn.

I've got a couple re-veg hints.
-Comb over the remaining bud material for seeds. If you find any, even unripe, remove them!
-This is a time when it IS appropriate to use more than 'a drop a gallon' of superthrive. I use ~4 drops per gallon in one of the earliest waterings after harvest and then nothing after that.
-The plant will use water more slowly since its leaf mass is greatly decreased. Cut back watering accordingly.
-Strong blue light is good. I prefer flourescents to re-veg. If you can find an 'ott light' style CFL, that's an excellent choice.
-24/0 light schedule tells the plant GO BACK TO VEGGING. OR ELSE.
