I dont think people would br drying weed if it took away from the THC count. If u dont dry ur weed AND cure it, then it will taste like shit, and i heard that curing helps to make the THC even better, dont smoke ur freshly picked nugzz

Actually the THC is present at harvest but will not get you as high as if it were dried and cured. You can do an experiment by sticking some fresh budz in a microwave at 50% power for 30 second bursts until it dry enough to smoke, it will get you high but not as much. The trichromes must dry out for the THC to be potent.

dont nuke em.:microwave:
thats the worst fast dry method
on a lamp, or ur monitor, somewhere with low heat output
even in a toaster oven thats barely on is a better choice.
curing will allow all the residual nutes and chloraphyl (sp?) to evaporate out and the inner moisture content to equalize out properly.

Fresh picked buds has less THC than cured buds... when they are fresh, they have a larger amount of THCA (THC-acid), which is not psychoactive (dont make you high). Through the process of curing, this THCA is transformed in THC. So, after the curing the bud has more THC than when it was fresh.

LOL! Fresh picked buds are shit compared to properly dried and cured buds. Not only does curing activate more THC etcetc, it also improves flavour - and dry weed ACTUALLY burns.
Why would anyone in their right mind buy fresh wet weed - you'd just be getting ripped off.

no...there are chemicals that become activated during the curing process, therefore making it more potent at that point..

humm...the best advise is to let them dry naturally then cure for at least a couple days. Its worth the wait as you can see from all the posts, but if you are impatient and need a smoke it wont be as good..Peace

I have been opening my glass curing jars about 2-3 times a day to release any left over moisture and get some fresh air. Ive been doing this for like 3-4 days now. Is this the right thing to do??? If this is the correct method, how many more days should i sweat the jars beforw putting them away for the long hall??

heres my :twocents: for the folks that want to smoke their fresh budz (me included). I've tried many different methods (toaster, tv, monitor, etc) and am currently liking the xbox 360 dryer, that sucker has 2 fans on it and is nice and toasty in back of my tv stand. Put them in front on the fan for a few hours, rotating, and then bagging (plastic) them for an hour between each drying cycle. Obv. this doesn't really cure the buds, but it does make them smokable, and you'll get high and such. also cut the stems as short as possible since they have much of the moisture content with them.......but this is only to get me through until the rest of the batch is drying and curing the right way.....
