Earthy Dank,
Thanks for the "Hell yeah"....I'm making sure this time......LED light is from S*larOasis..they are real shy about some specs..found this info in a mag ad...the watt output
per unit is 0.128 amps- 15.36 watts @ 120 volts..I'm no electrician...so go from there..LOL...
Gotta have another go with the Hawaiian Snow...first time was great, this time will be excellent!!!!

Hey Gang,
3 Weeks in flower tomorrow....tried to show the "frost"..on this bud...believe me its there...
The nursery has been narrowed down to 1 NCDG, 1SJ, 1 HS, and 5 TH, the TH have been moved to another area to flower, just to sex them...they are going to be a while before I can tell I'm sure...
Hooking up my exhaust up to my light hood really made an improvement beyond my expectations..by all means, if you havent done so, do so...the noticable results were seen in just hours..no stress from the heat...
Loving the Fox Farm nutes...said it before..have to repeat...

hey treetops,
is that a mini dwc setup you have there?
if it is, how far along do you allow your plants to get in those folgers containers?
the reason i ask is because im trying to figure out a way to use dwc along with sog for a perpetual harvest.....i could prolly fit 10-12 large folgers containers in my dresser setup...

I forgot to mention, except for the 'stretching', that particular NorCal Daddy's Girl is the healthiest-looking plant I have ever grown in 41 years of playing home-grower ... the deepest-green leaves, they appear 'oily' to the eye (wish you could see them under a white light, the HPS makes them look yellowish) ... no sign of burning, or any deficiencies, at all ... it's my second hydroponic grow, and despite being warned by the local hydro stores, I wanted to try a full Fox Farm nutrient experiment ... now, I'm sold on it ... 100% Fox Farm nutes, using their own suggested schedule as a guideline ... beyond the FF 'Grow Big', 'Tiger Bloom', 'Big Bloom', and 'Open Sesame', the only thing I added was a bit of molasses, a shot of Earth Juice 'MicroBlast', and a bit of 'Cal-Mag+' when using RO water ... it's Fox Farm for me, from now on

Reap, guess what was in my Breakfast Bowl this morning?
Guess what's in my one-hitter at the bottom of my purse?
Guess what's in my neighbor's stash jar these days?
:D
Treetops, that yellowing branch scares me! I think you need a bigger DWC container! You've got what I strongly believe to be a fungal problem similar to Weedhound's Power Plant that outgrew its DWC! But then again, it's a 55 day strain and you only have a week or 2 to go as far as I can tell from here.

Stinky,
I just thought it was the norm...as I'm so close to harvest....but you are on to something..it was running way too hot in the closet, 90ish at the canopy..so I shut off all the cfls..took the temps down into the lower 80s..as I was going through water like crazy..so its much better now...temp wise..
lets hope she recovers nicely..

The yellowing at harvest time presents as an EVEN yellowing among all bottom branches and working up. When a single stalk's worth of foliage suddenly looks sickly, it's a problem with water/nutrient uptake to THAT BRANCH, and can almost always be traced to a fungal infection and resulting damage to vascular tissue somewhere between roots and base of that stem.
If you have some Serenade, I'd do a treatment to halt its spread. But your call; you're SO close to chopchop... it looks delicious....

The roots don't look bad. I can't tell if there's any problem in the center though obviously. You're fine to finish up this harvest but might want to switch to a waterfarm sized DWC next time at the start of the bloom cycle, or even after the stretch period, to give them more root space.

Oh SHIT Treetops you gotta get her into something more roomy and give a fungicide treatment fast. That does not look good. Critical root mass... yikes. She's losing water through the leaves faster than the roots can replenish it! I'd almost say try to increase %RH but be careful to watch for mold.

Thanks Weedhound...she needs it last time I looked..that was 10pm..leaves still havent recovered...I think its/was starting to look like it was coming around, but I'm not sure..its upsetting to just see her drooping so...meant to ask..Did yours recover?...if so how long did it take?...
Using store bought H202..and no not using any zymes..Just Fox Farm nutes...and a little molassess...
Till tomorrow at 10am lights on...
Again thanks,

Treetops, with mine I managed to stop the progress of the disease but the damage was done to the leaves and the forming buds so I did not take the plant to finish....but I think it COULD have made it to finish I had worked hard at it. Does that make sense?
How close are you to done with this plant? With the store bought peroxide (3%) you can use 2 teaspoons per gallon every other day so add more if you need to.
Edit: You've already moved the plant to a larger container so I think H202 is your next best weapon here.

There is no substitute for lots of bubbly in the res. It will prevent and solve many problems. Not only that, it will make the plants huge and healthy. You can get away with smaller than normal reservoirs if you use lots of aeration. More bubbles. Lotsa bubbles. Bubbles galore. That's the key.

Hey Gang,
Update on my poor plant...She bit the big one and my efforts to save her failed..
So will this just now be garbage or will I be able to smoke it, with the Neem I've used?
What a sad day this has been..
Thanks all,

It may be too late but i would have sprayed them with clean water before you cut. You don't want to smoke that neem. I have heard of people say that you can use neem day of harvest and you'll be fine but it is risky. If i were you i would either... 1, Spray the buds off with clean water or dunk them underwater for a few seconds or 2, Just smoke them and hope smoking residual neem isn't fatal.

Treetops I'm so sorry to hear about your plant. When you took apart the root system how did the very middle look?
Sorry but I don't know enough about neem oil to tell you if it is safe or not. Can you rinse the plant?

Neem is nontoxic to humans but tastes ass nasty. Shit. I'm sorry to hear about that. I hope you didn't get a bunch on the buds themselves.
In the future, the correct anti-fungal treatment is Serenade and peroxide. Serenade can go on the low leaves and peroxide in the res. In soil grows, a bacillus soil drench is also an option.

I know people say NEEM Oil won't hurt ya, yet the bottle I'm holding in my hands, has one entire side printed with specific Warnings :wtf: ... examples from my 'Green Light NEEM Concentrate' : "harmful if absorbed thru the skin" (lung tissue ??) ... "Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing" ... "take off contaminated clothing, rinse skin with water for 15-20 minutes" ... I realize there's 'Warnings' for everything these days, but I don't chance it ... still need my lungs awhile longer ...

Treetops, since THC isn't water-soluble, and some folks water-cure, anyway, I wouldn't be afraid to let that soak for an hour or two in clean water (room temperature only) ... just do the initial drying quickly, so ya don't get mold, too

Weedhound,
Thanks.....Couldnt get the Serenade, thought the neem would help, but I think it was too late..Roots are the same throughout..just like you see them, but they arent the healthy roots I'm used to seeing...and they look stunted to me..I think this is because of me cranking up some extra CFLs and not caring about the temps. They were high..and I was going through the water..
I did dunk it each branch, in a bucket of clean water...then I sprayed it down using the shower...gave it a good spray...I'm not throwing this shit away.....the dose of Neem I did give them lets hope wasnt enough to kill me in the long run..
Peace,

Reaper,
Thanks for the suggestion about the soaking..I did spray the hell out of them..but kently...a rinsing they got, but I'm going to take your idea of the soak and do that as well...I'm off to soak them..

Took Reapers advice...soaked it all for a couple of hours...then rinsed each branch with cold water..Using my fan to dry it..things are lookin up...Found this info..Good read..sounds like smoking it shouldnt be a problem..
"Effects on human health: Studies of azadirachtin mutagenicity and acute toxicity have shown that it likely does not pose a significant risk to human health. However, some people have exhibited skin and mucous membrane irritation from neem seed dust (Weinzierl and Henn 1991). Note that most studies have been done on azadirachtin, and may not show the effects of a whole neem product. Neem is used in some commercial human hygiene products."
...except for StinkyAttic says it tastes like shit..oh, well we'll see..

Reaper,
Thanks for stopping by...Yes, I'm happy with her and its nice and smooth...No Neem taste either...
I think what happened, is that the whole plant had slipped down through the net pot...I cut out the bottom of the cup so the main stem doesnt get "girdled"..in this case, with me turning the plant all the time, I loosened up the plant in the hydorton and it had slipped down more in the water of the res than I had realized...its the only thing I can come up with at this stage of the game...
Must be more careful next time...
