Here is an idea that I came up with after having peat pellets fall over while sliding my cutting trays around,or just getting the top off of the tray. I took an 8oz. styro cup,cut it in half. Flip the top half of the cup upside down. Then put the other half on the inside of the top.You now have a tip-proof collar/container for cutting to stay safe from damage! This idea was intended for use with the Jumbo or Super peat pellet. I use the Jumbo. It sticks out of the top of the cup and you can see when it is rooted without disturbing the cutting. When you transplant to larger pots, the jumbo pellets act as a guide to keep you from transplanting too deep.Keeping the roots in the medium, and not on the bottom. They give it room to establish a root ball. I know there are some of you out there that have cussed like hell cause you touched your tray and the cuttings rolled over.
